its a landslide yes.....from the independent
""""Simon Harris also reacted to the anticipated result: "I think the people of Ireland have voted with compassion to the fore of their mind, I'm so humbled to be their Health Minster today. "We have faced up to reality that women are leaving our country every day to access terminations. "As long as it remained in our constitution we were saying to woman 'take the plane of take the boat', now we're saying 'take our hand'." Solidarity TD Paul Murphy has said today’s expected result is because of a “youth-quake” and a “gender-quake”. The Dublin South-West TD said the victory was been driven by young people and women. The likely result will be delivered three years after the country voted to legalise same-sex marriage - another landmark moment in Ireland's tectonic drift from "social conservatism" to "progressive liberalism"."""

Our tabloids, which can NOT be trusted to be truthful, use the same style. I'm glad for the Irish women. It sounds like they are getting helped out of the pit we are about to get kicked back into.

It is about respecting vulnerable life though, and clearly it is not respected now same as in the UK.....
It's euthanasia, Hitler is still with us. Except there is no pain or suffering, just a healthy life.
What is wrong with having the child adoped if the mother does not want it?
If a little inconvience enough to justify terminating someone's life?
The Islamic view.

English law has some duplicity on the matter.
A tricky topic for the lawyers no doubt!
So basically it is a crime to kill an unborn child unless the mother wants you kill it.

Plenty of women oppose abortion, and the church view would be what was best for the unborn child.
Is is somewhat disturbing to hear of people being "joyful" at taking human life.

any woman who apposes abortion is free not to have one... its and should be a matter of personal choicec based on personal circumstances .. no woman who has been raped should be forced to give birth to any child from that act of brutality... every child deserves to be wanted and no woman should be forced to travel to a foreign c0ountry to have abortions... taking human life... get a grip.... what do you think the killing of Savita Halappanvar was...it was taken a life.....on the edicts of men... men you know as little about abortion as you do of every thing else there was no joy at taking of human life.. there was joy that at last women would have the right to choose on matter which concern them and their bodies and only trhe most stupid and idiotic would think there was no abortion in S Ireland ... the back street abortionis do trade as do the do it yourself abortions via knitting needles.. jumping down stairs and hot baths and bottles of gin.. and all the rest of the dubiouis of methods.... mucg better and safer the have a safe claen medical proceedure

BUT TINES HAVE CHANGED Times have changed. But the MA pill was a fairly easy way round it. I would bet it's a far cheaper option than a termination procedure. Far more private too. But it's silly not to have matching legislation on this in Europe.

don't you think that there could be a certain amount of revolt in that vote.. and I also do think that the morning after pill has its place and is preffereable to a later abortion... but there have been the cases,, one of which I mentioned[Savita Halappanvar] which had a great effect on the Irish which the morning after would have had no effect on at all with the abortion bill all roads are covered.. or at least I hope they are hopfully the MA will be the main preventative... but now there is also another option for those who find them selves in really bad situations
