Very humid and hot here. Almost as slow as things are here on the forum! Tomorrow is the U.S. Mothers' Day. We're having a family get together to honor all the moms in the family and extended family at once. I'm sure it will be very nice but wish the temps would go down a litgtle. Thanks to all who have managed to come in and say "hi" today. Hope the rest of your weekend is splendid and special. we're going to hit 90, WITH the humidity. aren't you supposed to get a spot of precipitation? there's supposed to be thunderstorms all around us, but we probably won't get any happy mother's day to the moms We have the same thing Jumbo except 80 instead of 90. Have yourself a good day and stay cool!

Nice looking town, Chris. Thanks for the pics, Dex. Glad you were able to get there and hope you get a fine start, Chris. All the luck I have to send!
In a few weeks, if you're still happy with where your've landed, think about putting up a travel- iog for us.

Have a good day all you Moms. You deserve more celebrations that one day a year but since it's here, grab it and have a great time toeday. Thanks Dex .. and all who've wished Moms a happy-happy. It's been a nice day .. hot muggy and heavy cloud cover all day. Now bright sunshine. I'm hoping the clouds moving on will help all the people who have been down and out with congestion, headaches and general respiratory misery. I had to go have my younger daughter's inhaler prescription filled and she hadn't needed it for weeks. Fret's out as far as I know ... bad cold and rehearsal both .. which ever one wins out this evening. Hurry back, Fret ... you're missed. I'll be here a little while.

I finally got my new apartment in Eureka and have settled in!!! After a wonderful five hour drive up here we arrived at 7pm and unloaded and zombied out for the evening....Wednesday we took the day off and I drove my son around town and we also went to the ocean. I have waited 15 months for this dream to come true and now that I'm here, I know it was a good decision and I am happy with the cooler weather and my small apartment. The drive up here was fantastic.........the scenery is gorgeous and I had forgotten the immensity of the redwood trees......all I can say is the hand of God made perfection when He made Northern California. That is way cool. Did you take 36?

The storms from the Plains and south of there have made it east. Ohioi now has boomers and bucket loads ofd rain. Hope this does now last long but more importantly, hope it doesn't bring wind. Chef, that looks like a town where you can come in, settle down and be happy. That goes for me too it I could bring along all my family from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, NC and Tennessee. It could be the day the Jessiealan's came to town. Seriously though, it seems you put a lot of thought into your move and I wish you the best. How did the pie go, Jim?

(more) By the way, on the news just now was a flash that someone has shot George Zimmerman in the face in some kind of traffic dispute, in Florida. They are saying it is a minor injury so I'm wondering if it was a BB gun or something shy of a real weapon.

It is my understanding Jessie that the person shot at him through the window and missed. They took Mr. Zimmerman to the hospital and he was released as okay.
I'll offer a further comment by saying a BB gun is a real weapon. It has a low caliber projectile and a relatively low velocity, but is still a real weapon.

I think "Mr" Zimmerman should have been called inside more often by his parents - "George ... get in here and stay out of trouble and let this be a life long lesson!!!".

I know Jessie will correct me if I'm wrong but I think she means the seniors who spent their lives working at lower paying jobs with no chance to build up a good retirement fund. You did know about those guys who are also middle class, didn't you, Menantol? I know many of these people who reached retirement and they come from all types of economic background. For the most part they are independents and yet have no fear of any type of politician who is going to cut their Social Security. I'm not sure what is meant by lower pay jobs as most were factory blue collar workers. Nearly all of them do not like the government intruding into their lives.

Great to see you, mouse. Have a good time today. You never cease to amaze me with all your rode trips. Gadding about is usually a pain to most here but you see to thrive on it. Have fun!
