Great to see you, mouse. Have a good time today. You never cease to amaze me with all your rode trips. Gadding about is usually a pain to most here but you see to thrive on it. Have fun! twenty years ago, i liked to get in the car and just drive, aimlessly for several hours. that's probably why i hate to leave the house at all now

we're finally dropping to 79 today, and 76 tomorrow, which is in the range of normal. i think that you've gotten hit with some pretty good storms. so far, they are still passing us by We had one good storm that lasted quite a while but it seems to have mglown past with no real problems. This morning ... sunny 70s. we've gone 19 days without a drop of rain. that is unheard of

Maybe the drives were more scenic ... or morei profitable.

I shall have to dash through this morning...as we ARE really off the EYAM today...its the village where the plague stopped its rampage across England ...and all down to the VICAR....and his thinking[though there were individual cases of plague and minor outbreaks noted for a couple of centuries after.....but the main thrust of this dreadful scourge was stopped by a stone in a field in Derbyshire .. so leaving at 10[though why so early I don't know as its not that far away this morning is bright blue sky and a few clouds..slight breeze rather than a howling wind...but as our weather is some what unpredictable we are all taking our macs[waterproofs]

It's a gorgeous spring day. Off to take my little one to the park with a basket lunch to eat at a pic-nic table after a good time at play. Hope you all have the sun on your face.

I hope everyone is either out there enjoying this beautiful day or leaving to go out after lunch. My daughter just told me this is the kind of day that makes her wish she had a dog instead of a cat so she could take him out and run with him. lol Maxx gave her a look and settled back down to his nap. It's time to put away most of the cool weather clothes and trade the boots for sandals. Let's make the most of it this year.

we had a good day and returned to our homes tired but happy the day weather wise was sunny and warm...we saw what was to be seen..indulged in cakes and ice cream and handed around sweeties.. far from being depressing ....the sad story of Eyam is a story of fortitude..rising above adversity and how humans can cope... I took some photos will try to post them over the weekend

forgot to say that in the last week have seen so many hedgerows and woodsand they have been beautiful in wales they were masses of yellow gorse,,bluebells..cowslips..cow parsley and here back home..swathes of blue bells..cowslips and small white flowers whose name escapes me and mayflowers...some but not as much gorse its been a pleasure and joy to see..the blue bell carpeted woods in particular the latness of spring has added the dimension of things over lapping...great result and all against the soft first greens of the leaves

I finally got my new apartment in Eureka and have settled in!!! After a wonderful five hour drive up here we arrived at 7pm and unloaded and zombied out for the evening....Wednesday we took the day off and I drove my son around town and we also went to the ocean. I have waited 15 months for this dream to come true and now that I'm here, I know it was a good decision and I am happy with the cooler weather and my small apartment. The drive up here was fantastic.........the scenery is gorgeous and I had forgotten the immensity of the redwood trees......all I can say is the hand of God made perfection when He made Northern California. That is way cool. Did you take 36? no, took Hwy 20 to 101..........36 is for bikers because of all the curves and didn't want to deal with that. I'm loving the 60° weather during the day.....lots of sunshine, nice breeze and cool temps.....just what I was looking for. I am still standing in awe of the redwoods and the sheer size of them.

Good for you, Chris. You've worked and waited for this one. May it live up to your hopes! I looed up the town on Google and it does look like something special. Dex, thanks for the pictures so others can see what I am lucky enough to see everyday now. If one loves Victorian architecture, this is the town to be....tons of them here and so many of the streets similar to San Francisco in areas but not as steep.

My pleasure, Chris. I hope you have many happy days there. Do you think your son might relocate now that he sees how nice it is?

son could only move if there is a department head opening at the grocery store.......it could be years before that happens so in the meantime he will take a five day vacation and come on up and enjoy the area

He's lucky to have that chance. In the meantime, float those resumes. You have a real good thing going.
