My grandchildren are much better and have spent their weekend playing at home in the sun. Back to the regular daily activities tomorrow, now that the Derby and the boxing are over. May your weekend end on a happy note. the question is, did the pies get made Jumbo, I would strongly recommend these pie recipes, and in fact all these recipes, for inexperienced bakers. They are just about no fail. For cream pies, you can also get good results making graham cracker crusts for the cream fillings. www.pillsbury.com/everyday-eats/desserts/pies-tarts/how-to-make-a-perfect-apple-pie

i did do okay with a pumpkin pie last thanksgiving. all i had to do was put a couple of eggs in the can of pumpkin pie stuff, and buy the pie crust. just for giggles, i will try to make a cream, some kind, pie. unfortunately, though, summer isn't the most opportune time to do it. still, i'm going to shoot for sunday thanks

It IS quiet here. I've had a very busy day off line and, so, kind of appreciate the calm. It's been sprinkling showers here all afternoon. Annie, I think they want early starts to all the voting public to become as familiar with their presence. Not wure whether that's the best idea for some of them or not. it's what kills a lot of them. name recognition is a good thing. personal history, not so much Exactly! That's an eloquent truth for a lot of everyday people, too ... not just politicians.

Exactly! That's an eloquent truth for a lot of everyday people, too ... not just politicians. that's true too. when it's gotten to where some fool can dredge up that you hit your sister on her fifth birthday, NO ONE is safe I agree. I'm rather glad we have George W. Bush quoted, scanned and recorded for at least 8 years of his life with even more hearsay. He can never deny all that admiration and affection for the Saudis; it's right there in re-run.

Howeve3r, one of our members says he is unable to get the main page to load pastg News and Current Events. Must be very frustrating because we have a world of good cojntent on down the page.
Can anyone relate to that problem of offer a suggestion?

Very humid and hot here. Almost as slow as things are here on the forum!
Tomorrow is the U.S. Mothers' Day. We're having a family get together to honor all the moms in the family and extended family at once. I'm sure it will be very nice but wish the temps would go down a litgtle.
Thanks to all who have managed to come in and say "hi" today. Hope the rest of your weekend is splendid and special.

I finally got my new apartment in Eureka and have settled in!!!
After a wonderful five hour drive up here we arrived at 7pm and unloaded and zombied out for the evening....Wednesday we took the day off and I drove my son around town and we also went to the ocean.
I have waited 15 months for this dream to come true and now that I'm here, I know it was a good decision and I am happy with the cooler weather and my small apartment.
The drive up here was fantastic.........the scenery is gorgeous and I had forgotten the immensity of the redwood trees......all I can say is the hand of God made perfection when He made Northern California.
