yesterday the fog burned off and it was glorious..sitting in the sun after changing into a t-shirt.... this morning awakend to brilliant sunshine after hard overnight frost....but now the thick fog has rolled in shutting out the sun]so once more we are in grey gloom...hopefully it will burn off and the afternoon will again be warm enough to sit out I hope you have another beautiful day, too, mouse. Love the photo. Where is that. You have such a great eye for color combos. No idea what the day has in store here, weather wise. Back later when there's daylight. This is cleaning helper-lady day. I can kick back a little. Oh I can see why ... just for the beauty and style. If you have enough pictures and the inclination and some extra time one of these weeks, maybe you can create a "tour" for us. At le4ast give it some thought!

you are pretty much limited in colors with the kits, especially the cheap ones. using food coloring, i used to make a dozen or so colors, but like i said, i guess i'm just getting lazy. i only boiled eighteen eggs, and was able to color fifteen of them. i don't understand why an egg can be perfectly fine when i put it in the pan, but after boiling, it's cracked all to hell. a million years ago, a couple of us got the bright idea of trying to blow the eggs out of the shells. we wasted a couple dozen eggs before we finally realized that we just weren't cut out for that i've seen people that had though, and they are pretty cool it's too bad there isn't much likelihood the two of you will get together and create a few dozen (next year, thinking .. next year ) ... bet they would be the best ever. All the shades and, then, TIE DYED!! 'twould be fun. i have made tri colored eggs. it's a pain in the ass, but it can be done. i just don't have the patience to do those squiggly lines and stuff. that's too much like work

At le4ast give it some thought! am pushed for time this April...but perhaps once April is out of the way :I could have a rummage and see what I have on the area) have a busy day ahead...and am already running late Grandson is decorating my bedroom...[help]and intends to do the ceiling this morning...good intentions are one thing..following it through with practicalities is another..at least he doesn't need ladders as he is so tall..and can reach the ceiling without any problem...but what can I do when he is so eager to do jobs...I can hardly refuse when he thinks he is being helpful beautiful sunny morning with no sign of the dreaded fog of the last few days

Sounds like you've got a pretty day there kmouse. We're having big bad thunderstorms - one right after the other. I need to get off line. Too much lightning flashin around.

Thursday morning and a slight mist rather than fog..the sun is shinning and looks set for a warm day the weather forcast though indicates a drop in temps from tomorrow and through next week...just when am off on a jaunt and need good weather...hey ho..twill be what will be another busy morning..ahead...so time I wasn't here this photo is of our insect house..where creepies and bugs can go to hide for the winter...as I took the photo a wee spider kept coming out to look ..but he must have been camera shy and quickly disappeared as I clicked

Yesterday was my birthday; it started well enough with Mike bringing me flowers and a card and then deteriorated from that point on.
We were in the middle of painting our front room when our mobile rang. It was from the tenant in our top-end flat in Kensington telling us he would be coming over the next day. We dropped everything and rushed over there to find he'd already arrived (though mercifully was out though his suitcase and a dirty pair of underpants were thrown on a chair).
After a frantic session of cleaning and tidying up - during which we found he'd buggered up the lights in the bathroom and I had to do some emergency electrical work - we left. We were starving so Mike suggested we stopped off at an Indian restaurant en route.
It was one of the most disgusting meals I've ever had - and I love Indian food.
Then we got home and I went online; on my forum a holocaust denier is spinning loads of lies. Then I went to the poetry forum I belong to and had loads of people wishing me a happy birthday.
Then I came on here - not one person wished me a happy birthday! April 8th is my birthday and has been for the last 37 years now.
Funny - I'm only two days older but technically I'm a whole year older!
Funny, I hardly ever miss anyone's birthdays especially a frequent poster.
Never mind; I'm obviously not important enough to bother about.

I've been doing poorly all week and not had my mind on very much except trying to feel better. Off to correct that situation right now!

They're supposed to go on up north but they're having a hard time getting there so far. If they go north they're less likely8 to turn into tornadoes than they are here and on south. I hope you have a good weekend.

Take care of yourself there too Beth. Health is just as important as birthdays.

I've got a puzzler up in the Music Triv topic that nobody has guessed yet. It's not hard, especially if you were an English music fan in the 70s. Give it a try. I've got bonus points for the first to get it right.

A town 2 states west of us was "flattened", so says the morning news. Our rain was to have ended yesterday but now they say it will go on all day today. I am very glad we do not live in a flood zone. Going back to bed.

today is wind and rain....and quite darkish /dull.. have to shop later as we are having a family dinner tomorrow so going to need a decent sized piece of meat lamb appears to be the favourite contender...so local lamb it will be...I think there is just enough growth on the mint to make mint sauce...and enough fresh Rosemary too.... friends and I are discussing the possibilities of a couple of days on a canal barge...it could be great fun...[though we would have to hire some one to steer and open the lock gates]...we think weve found a firm that can do all our requirements[including providing meals...so fingers crossed
