that's how it's supposed to be. what is insane is that school started yesterday here, and half of the state Does that mean you had lots of snow days last school year? In some parts of KY, it makes a difference in when the kids have to go back. In Northern KY, they are prepared to get snow and ice off the roads quickly, so schools stay pretty much on schedule. Nice to see you, Jim. that could be the reason. we did have a lot of snow days this year. i think that they only planned for six, which is insane, and we had about twenty. the main roads here get salted and plowed, but, it takes awhile to get to the secondary roads, if they do them at all. the tertiary roads don't get anything, ever, but, school buses still have to use them. thank you ma'am. it seems like it's a ways in between times any more. i LOVE that avatar. where can i get it?

the past couple of months have been nothing but drama, and more drama. now, we have to move too. it has been nothing but a pain trying to find a place, but, we finally did. unfortunately, chinook can go, but, leroy can't. i have been sending emails to every rescue in middle tennessee. the only three responses i got couldn't take him. he can't help that he is half pit. the place we found is great. the town has a population of 748, which is a nice step from the 1600 where we are now, and a definite improvement over the 13,000 where we were before. we will be a mile and a half from the highway, the last half mile being a single lane dirt road. if you meet someone on it, somebody has to pull off the road to let the other get by. the greatest thing is that hazel's niece, and a worthless piece of shyt that we know, will not know where we are. i would have preferred a one room cabin, even further away. we would have been able to save a good bit of money, and THEN got a good place, but, hazel was balking because there is a community kitchen and bathroom. it was only $275 a month though, with electric paid, and free satellite tv. I would have said NO to community kitchen and bathroom; just can't do that type of living why? like i told hazel, it would just be like going camping, except for three or four months. i really wouldn't like the idea of community bathroom when it is only fifteen degrees outside and i needed to take a shower either, so, we would have gotten a house by november

I have very fond memories of living in TE. I was north of you and can't remember more than a couple of days in 3 years that would have qualified as snow-days. A little hot in summer, but, my goodness, the winters were fine and the springs were gorgeous ... just right most of the time. You don't want to use my avatar, Jim. Some folks would call you sissy-boy. Just enjoy it here.

I don't know what other countries are doing but tomorrow is the 100th anniversary of World War One and in the UK at 10 pm we are being asked to light a candle in our window and extinguish it at 11 pm to mark the declaration of war. Mike and I will be doing that - don't know if anyone else will.

We called it the monsoon season. I was teasing you. Check your email tomorrow.

I don't know of any particular ceremonies like that here but lots of TV coverage. Good for you and Mike.

our local church had events all over the weekend in regard to the great war[ww1] in the centre of the village opposite the war memorial a tree has been covered in poppies..it looks really good..not flashy by rather beautiful in fact it used to be said that their wasn't a person in England that didn't know or wasn't related to some one who had died in that war one of the side effects of that war was the huge numbers of unmarried women..they too were victims of the sensless massacres in France and Belgium one of my uncles forged his age and ran away to join the navy @ 15 and a half ..he became a submariner....in the early days of the submarine[looking at photos of him how he fooled anyone about his age is a mystery]he wasn't unhappy at home he just wanted adventure] my father served in north Africa and like other families we had loses and then just over 20yrs later the world had a rerun...the war to end all wars had achieved nothing

The year they went 3D I stopped using them but would still play one of the old ones if I had time.

It's still early but the sun is already bright and warm ... which means it will probably be one of those white hot mid-summer days in the Greater Ohio River Valley. I have to work but I believe my daughter and her friends are going to Coney to ride the water slides.
Make the most of the next few weeks. It will be too long before they come back.
