I think you will find workplaces are often a dog eat dog place, especially in time of technological change. And I don't think males particularly stick to gether, a friend of mine, a saleman at time was telling me how he would always vote down a colleagues preseention irregardless of how good it was as he didn;t like him, the You've got a good point. Some are worse than others.

talking of a sisterhood as they already know on here..i belong to a women group called W.I...WOMENS INSTITUTE..its a national organisation with branches in every village and town in the UK...it was formed in Canada 100 yrs ago...just had its 100th birthday the memebership cuts across all political financial and social layers ...no member is more or less important than others..and every year one currant problem is taken up and either fought for or against by national vote....and we are in fact quite a powerful organisation politically
but one thing it is not is a sisterhood..it works for the betterment of women..but doesn't demean men in any way our local group comprises stay at home women..marrieds and unmarried..successful business women..farmers..social workers..magistrates..factory worker..teachers..actresses...dancers...comedien ..writer... shop keeper.and artists ..physiotherapist ..md.. etcetc incomes range right across the board from filthy rich to lowest pension/income, and age range late 40s to 89.. its quite a mix..a lovely mix and we have a great deal of fun and enjoy each others company....both at meetings and jaunts and socially as well....who you are..where you come from and what you have is of no consequence ..its women at their best gathered to gether but as I wrote at the top.. its not a sisterhood 8thousand women decended on London earlier this year and they were only representatives of the memebership..each of the 8,000 was one single member representing their home group

Women supporting women. It's actually very fulfilling.

if you were to mention or try to liken it to a sisterhood...it wouldn't go down very well at all its non political and certainly none feminist and the issues we choose are not necessarily pro women..they are more pro improvement in general....everything from genetic modification through to waste storage and recycling not at all politica as memebers are of every persuation same with religion one notable moment when the Prime minister of the day was speeking to conference was booed and left with his tail between his legs ..that was a first our Prime minister is a member as are many of the royals including Queenie ..no quarter given though..they still have to take their turn in making the tea and providing the bisquits..we are 100% inclusive and equal
our group is very lucky as we meet in the village club and the bar is open for drinks of all types inc tea or coffee ..bit noisey though when we open our pakts of nibbles crisps /nuts etc we meet in a room downstairs ..when theres the world cup or a special match we can hear the TV and the men cheering or a collective groan...so off some one goes and tells them to shush
