not raining but colder and all over grey and a hard frost over night...and still quite windy noticed mr and mrs Blackbird are back and nesting behind the back guttering again above my bedroom window...they do not appear to use our garden but fly in around 5ish from the right...haven't heard them all winter...but no doubt soon there will be hatchlings who will squak and chatter ... this was taken on an evening walk a few years ago when Grandsons were trying out new cameras they had both been given...GS2 had quite a good eye

you should be getting the fifties soon. chicago is warming up. we have just a few little patches of snow left around the yard, and about half of the north facing roof. it takes longer for the house since, with the trees, the sun never directly shines on the house. it was very unfortunate that ohio state won the national championship. that made me sad for days. actually, i was more pissed off at oregon for losing it. yep, the road to the derby has begun. it's time to start paying attention to the horses. horse races and football are the only sports that i'm really interested in I ge'cha, Jessie. It's still a little nippy here and winter seems to drag. Derby season is looking awfully good to me, too. Jim, we're forecast to hit 60 midweek. I'm surprised the males in the household aren't already dragging in bags of charcoal for a grill out. <sigh> It's really pretty out this evening but still warm jacket weather. Here it is, Sunday and at the end of another weekend already. Fret's in rehearsal hall tonight and I'm here for a little while. Chicken and dumplings for supper. Hope everyone has had a good weekend! we hit 63 yesterday. it will only be 59 today, but that's okay. of course, we're supposed to get about five inches of rain this week, and chinook's house has developed a leak. that's not satisfactory

I hope you know you are lucky, Jumbo. Ohio is just starting to venture into the high 30s. Sun is glittering on the snow today but is just not strong enough to start the thaw. As for college sports seasons, March is the end of it for a few months and I'm ready to move on. Ohio State won the national championship for football and now it appears our neighbor, Kentucky will win the title for basketball. That's great but that's enough. I'm ready for Easter parades and Derby horse races and warm days. Thank you for the flowers, mouse. I am looking forward to my dogwood tree blooms. you should be getting the fifties soon. chicago is warming up. we have just a few little patches of snow left around the yard, and about half of the north facing roof. it takes longer for the house since, with the trees, the sun never directly shines on the house. it was very unfortunate that ohio state won the national championship. that made me sad for days. actually, i was more pissed off at oregon for losing it. yep, the road to the derby has begun. it's time to start paying attention to the horses. horse races and football are the only sports that i'm really interested in Our high today is forecast at 54 F but it is only 44 now at the noon hour. Sun, but a chill in the air. I remember while teaching, I sometimes volunteered as a chaperone for spring school trips. It was delightful to go to Knoxville because they take great pride in their Dogwood trees. Beautiful, but not really warm when they are in bloom. I'd like to get up a trip this spring for old times sake.

This is a little funny and interesting at the same time. Now and then at random, I will stay an extra few minutes and read a tarot spread. I am noticing that each time I read them near the 1st of the month, I always get a positive pentacles (money) spread. I have to wonder whether the cards are "fixed" because everyone knows most folks receive some kind of money around the 1st. This month is no exception. I turhned over the 10 or pentacles, straight up ! '

In the 40s today. Great ballgame. KY beat Florida. Ashley was there. yippee! it's going to be 60 today. i'm not keen on basketball, but, kentucky should be numero uno at the end of the season They should be but I notice they seem like they're running down as the season goes on. FLA came within 3 points of catching up with them the other night. It depends on how they hold out I guess.

They do have an extraordinary coach though. What are they now, 28 and 0? I think that's the best they've ever done with straight wins in a season. They've4 won the4 SEC. My son's very happy. UK is his alma mater. Everyone needs a good team to cheer for. Maybe TE and Vandy will pull out of it next year.

Go here and pick a date, get your tickets and GO! It could take a few dollars more but if you live within an hour or two, you should be able to get there and back and keep the shirt on your back. Don't tell your wife you'll buy her everything. Just promise one thing and stick with it. www.opry.com/calendar?gclid=CO-Y7PG3nMQCFUMV7Aod5F8ACQAfter you do that, the other place in TE you need to visit while you're there is Gatlinburg. Then, if you get a 3rd chance - Memphis or Knoxville.
