Good morning. A hot day here so will be doing very little. We usually go for a walk down the beach but even that has been cancelled. Everyone have a great day. Hi Joy! Stay cool and don't overdo. It's relatively mild here but the rest of the week is more of the same ol' winter we've had for over a month. Hopefully, it can't last forever.

We're having heavy rain and winds right now and they've just revised our forecast from 3 to 6 inches of snow today to the following.
Almost all of Greater Cincinnati is under a winter storm warning from noon Wednesday until 1 p.m. Thursday.
Why? As much as 10 inches of snow could hit portions of Northern Kentucky and Clermont County, according to the National Weather Service.
Less snow is expected in Warren and Hamilton counties. The weather service predicts between 3 and 6 inches of snow in those areas.
Butler County is the only county in the region not under a winter storm warning. Instead, the weather service issued a winter weather advisory for snow until 1 p.m. Thursday, which means travel difficulties are still a possibility.
It's a little hard to understand how the city of Cincinnati could bet only 3 to 6 inches and the greater metro area get up to 10 inches but far be it for me to question. My office is closed until Friday and I only have to go out early and make sure the kitchen is stocked. They are good about clearing roads here but when it's really bad they settle for keeping the highways clear and the streets and secondarys are, simply, skipped.
Hope everyone here has a good Wednesday.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr No attempts to clear any of the neighborhood roads yet and the snow is still pouring down. We have some guests. Back after while. not to feel bad. i hadn't intended to leave home today, but, hazel was whining, wanting her prescriptions, so, after spending almost half an hour pouring hot water on the car doors to get it open, and scraping a porthole in the windshield, i was off. i only made it the hundred yards down the driveway to the turn toward the street. the driveway is only 12 feet wide. since i could barely see where i was going, i misjudged the turn and went into the ditch. i had to trudge back through the snow to the house and call triple A. it took half an hour to talk to anybody, then, they told me the tow company is snowed in and can't get out. thankfully, a chap going down the highway, which still hasn't been plowed, stopped and pulled the car out. i got it back to the house, and it is going to stay there. i really needed to go because both of chinook's lights burned out. i had to replace them with regular clear bulbs. that will probably be warm enough for today, since it is going to get up to 23. he'll probably have to sleep in the bathroom tonight though, because i know those lights won't work when it gets down to 4. i truly did not need this

Hazel has to realize the scripts are nowhere nearly as important as you and the truck! After all kinds of frightening forecasts, we only got abt. 3 and a half inches. The greater Ohio river valley will rebound by tomorrow. The usual know-it-alls say this is the last cold snap we'll have except for the expected "little winters" (redbud, snowball, dogwood and blackberry) that mark the way through spring. Stay warm and take care. At least we're moving OUT of winter instead of INTO it.

what really sucks is that, even though it is only 22 right now, the sun is out, pretty bright. that means that some of it is going to melt. tomorrow, instead of snow, it will be ice, which is a lot worse

It will be a little warmer tomorrow, too (kind of like today) so if iyou try it, wait until afternoon or get someone to bring you some rock salt. Fret's out this evening and I'll be here about an hour at which time I need to finish settiang up another cold weather supper - beef stew and salad. Again - stay warm if at all possible.
