Maxx could not be forced to go out in this!!! He bolts everytime someone opens a door.
It's very windy tonight and the wind is very cold ... or at least it seems so to me. Our current temperature is 20 degrees F higheer than it was this time last night, though it's supposed to plunge again tomorrow for about 24 hours before we come out of this freeze.

It is a little less bitter today with bright sunshine but still plenty cold.
The situation in France is terrible and demands all the attention on cable news (rightly so). For several months, the discussion guests have been saying radical Islamists would be waging attacks in the EU. This must be what they feared. Trying to watch and get an understanding while baking apple pies.

it was 29°F last evening; it has been dipping in the thirties every night for about a week now.....just typical Northern California weather. still on hold for moving further north until an apartment opens........#7 on the list so having to maintain patience.....I've already waited one year and am anxious to get going again and resettled. further north is crescent city. much further north than that and you run out of california

Where were you on the list when you first moved up north, Chris? Hope your number comes up sooner than later. 29 F sounds a might chilly for CA. Hang in there. I've been on the list for a year and slowly moving forward.....the sad part is in order to get an apartment three things have to happen, the current tenant dies, goes to nursing home as they can no longer care for themselves or they move. I hear about one a month passes away so I will eventually get there and settle in. I love this area but it's just to rural for me with the nearest Walmart 27 miles away. It's warming up slightly but still chilly. look on the bright side. you don't have to deal with bumper to bumper traffic on your trip to walmart

co;d and damp this am..nothing on the agenda for today...will stay warm and cosy and let it do its worst for the build up to the expected storms that are on their way Yesterday was supposed to be our coldest day but today has been bad too. I think it got up to 12 F and nobody got sent out into the field, on the ground or in a plane, same for tomorrow. Then by Monday we should be back to normal. Get ready for the weekend. we won't get above freezing until sunday afternoon. yesterday was the worst. when i got up at 1am, it was 3 with the wind chill -5. at four o'clock, it was two with the wind chill -10. we're supposed to get all the way up to 25 today, but, it's back down to 9 tonight. i put another 250 watt infrared heat lamp in chinook's house. i guess the one was doing okay down to the twenties, but, i decided it wouldn't work down into single digits

Here in Iowa the warmest temperature is minus 2 and with the wind chill much, much colder. Snow is only about 7 inches on the flat.

I wondered whether Tennessee was getting a share of this. Hang in there, Jim. This too shall pass ... at least it always does.
