Well, another day, another deranged gun shooter killing people!
Not going to bother with a thread for this one .. at least until more information comes to light.
I mentioned to Fret last night that we may as well set up a topic, Americans With Guns, or something similar and just keep tacking on threads as breaking news dictates. grrrrrrrrrrr
Beautiful sunny day here. Been running errands this a.m.. Now to relax and cruise into the weekend.
Hope all of you have a good'un/

Wishing you all the luck in the world, Chris. Do you have a place for your plants?I am giving most of the outside plants away; am keeping my ficus and Norfolk pine and four houseplants but that is it........without a hose, it's to much trouble with a bucket trying to water to many plants. I have a small patio to put them on

Said hill being Bray Tor, with Widgery Cross planted on top:- Nice view towards Willsworthy Rifle Ranges (red flag just visibile in the middle of the full size version - My Arse Rides In Navy Equipment were giving it bang-bang today):- Looking back where I just came from:-

Over Great Links down into the valley and Bleak House, an old tinner's house:- Then over another hill, down one of the army's tracks:- And up to Kitty Tor and into the ranges:-

Flag pole on Lints Tor (they're not on boundary but on the highest points nearest to it on the inside - very helpful; not!):- Quick paddle across West Okement River and then up:- And up and up to Yes Tor, highest point in southern England:-

Range rats' shelter, Yes Tor. Used to be left unlocked for walkers in difficulties but now shut up tighter than a ducks butt, thanks to the modern trend amongst the lower/younger orders of having to break/steal/s**t in anything not theirs:- Army loop road crossing Black-a-Ven Brook (OP22 in the background - see next):- OP22, the turn-around point! Note cars on left. Wish the bloody army had decided to keep the gates locked. Now any old twit can drive to within a couple of miles of all the good bits using the loop and get their snaps whilst claiming to have done any number of some of the most iconic walks in the country, not to mention the wear and tear, the litter, the pollution. The distances used to be a filter - only the serious would venture into the interior. Now this OP is locked when not in use, too - freshly-licensed chavs were bringing their chavettes up there for a bit of nookie and partying in the bunker. Jeez - just agree with the National Park board that the gates will be locked again. I'm surprised the pikeys haven't moved in!

This rail system was used to run pop-up targets out until radio control took over (the .pdf link I posted last night explains more. Item 11 on the map extract):- Baaaaaaa!

Why does Mouse get decent-sized pics and I get thumbnails (click for bigger image) when I attach images to a post...?

I forgot to mention the weather. Quite nice, as forecast. However, what the photos don't show is the bloody wind. Forecast for light breeze with the odd 20mph gust. Reality was a constant 20-2mph easterly with frequent gust that must have been pushing 30-40mph!
