It's cool and sunny this morning, really nice after days of heavy heat and storms. The forecast is a return to seasonal weather. That will be a relief.
Thursday already and the weekend almost in shouting distance from here. Hope everyone has a good'un.

Off for a solitary day on the moor tomorrow, including a beast of a 200m ascent from the valley floor at Sandy Ford to Yes Tor, the highest point in southern England (apparently). It's right in the middle of the firing range so if I'm not heard of again it's because the brown jobs've dropped an artillery simulator on me or left a dud mortar for me to tread on or something (yes, yes - I checked the range card already)! Should be a nice day, according to the Met Office*... Mouse-thunder stealing pics may follow... * So will probably hammer down, then.

Hope the weather holds. Take care of you.

Thanks, Sugi. There's always some kind of scam going on. Last week my neighbor down the street was subscribing to a service offered by the local newspaper. Her phone number was part of the required information. Less than 10 minutes after she finished and hit "send", some guy was calling her from Atlanta to sell her a plan to service all her computer problems from long-distance for only 1200.00 a year. She thought that might be the way to go but put a hold on handing over her bank account information until her husband came home. As soon as he heard about it, he called the people back and told them he was going to report them. The end. There's no end to the spammers and con artists obsession for making a dollar/pound or 10.

Good morning everyone on this lovely Friday morning. Should go to exercise classes this morning but too tired plus I have so much ironing from my couple of weeks of entertaining I think I had better do that. Hope your day is good.

Thank you, Joy. We have a night's sleep before Friday morning, but here's a wish for you to have a good day.
This has seemed a short week. Looking forward to Saturday.

it has been a glorious spring day. The yardman was here this afternoon and the grass was new mown when I got home from visiting the library. it was a very nice surprise because he was not due to show up until Saturday.
Supper was Polish sausages and gourmet kraut .. with mustard sauce, and pear pie for dessert. Very tasty.

I signed the lease yesterday on a brand new one bedroom apartment in a senior community about 70 miles north of here in a very small town, pop. 5100, that has no Winco or Walmart!!!
I got a special deal with a month free rent and no deposit and rent is based on income so I can survive if I am careful. I will still relocate to Eureka at the end of the year when a unit opens up.
I am excited as I have not had my own place in 34 years but am also sad that I will no longer live with my son....we have never been apart so it's going to be a new beginning for the both of us....I keep telling him he now can grow and spread his wings to explore life; he has been patient and helpful in letting me live with him for so long.
I even have a doorbell lol
for once I have a washer/dryer hookup but won't be using it as in six to eight months will be moving to a place that doesn't have one.
so one chapter is closing and another is starting....I will have to drive 30 miles to get to the nearest Walmart to get personal care and food. The two grocery stores in town suck big time meaning they are expensive and dirty. I about gagged when I saw the filthy grocery cart that was all rusted out. A can of tomato soup was priced at $2.38 LOL it is like .88 at winco and walmart
There is a casino about twelve miles away and eight miles away is an old theatre that has been reconditioned....there really is nothing there so it will be an adjustment for sure plus the county only has about 25000 people and is heavily republican
