Good morning all. Cloudy day today with the sun trying to peep from behind the clouds. It's not raining.... yet! I do feel so sorry for those people in the flooded areas. My dad's wheelchair arrived yesterday so now I can take him out and about so he gets some fresh air. Just got to work out how it folds up to get it in and out of the car. The wheelchair should be very helpful. Be sure the locks are on before he sits down and gets up though. I hope you,and that means all of you, especially Tempus, have relief from the wet weather soon. Terrible way to spend a winter!

It's nice to have a slobby morning! I tried yesterday and today but my dog stood by the bed wingeing until I got up! 8 am is a lay-in for me as I get up at 6.30 am on a work day. But the dog wouldn't let me have more than a one hour lay in!
Wild and windy yesterday and I was a bit worried about the shed/greenhouse that my son built but all ok this morning. Haven't been outside yet but looks calmer at the moment.
I am going to a local farm shop today that is closing for good because Asda opened up across the way. It just could not compete with Asda's cheap fruit and veg prices ... 50p for a broccoli in Asda. Very sad to see the farm shop go because it had been there for donkey's years.

so much for my slobby indulgence...constant phone calls and then the washing machine decided to enliven my day...now we have no washer...scream kicks and stamps...the door opening has gone wonky and the actual lock part has dropped some where inside the caseing..not sure whether its worth repairing or better to get a new one.....] with the aid of a knife I managed to get the door open and retrieve the washing which thankfully had spun so we are not left with a large bundle of dripping wet wet washing
Maggie have you thought about one of those mobility scooters for your father??so he can trundle around locally and just keep the wheel chair for longer outings [mobility scooters do come apart for putting in cars but some bits are a bit akward for one person to manage]

I've just got back from the farm shop that is closing today and saw a lot of sad people, workers and customers. Ha! Where were the customers when they were needed I thought to myself... you should have seen them in the shop today - so crowded, getting a bargain.
Well I can't talk, because I got some bargains myself but still, very sad to see it close.
I bought half price grow bags and peat, weed killer and a lovely flowering cherry tree, which is in bud. I will have to plant it later today if the rain keeps away.

Hi mouse... didn't consider a mobility scooter as Dad wouldn't go out and about on his own. Very pleased with the wheelchair (though haven't used it yet). It is the type that has to be pushed by someone. The doc didn't want him to have the type where he could wheel himself around indoors, because he was worried that he would lose the use of his legs!

Returning us to normal winter weather. The arctic blast seems to be moving on.

I saw that forecast too, Annie. Good ol regular winter weather. I think I can handle that. It means just a coat and hat, not 5 layers of sweaters and long johns. It means I can put away the damn hand warmer battery powers gloves for the old fashioned kind. lol That's good. Is anybody else watching the Olympics? Pretty cool.

Not quite moving on where I live as yesterday I just cleaned up from the latest snowing and today we had a heat wave all the way up to 8 degrees. But then tonight we return to something like 21 below zero before morning.

Brrrrrrrrrr Cold all over the place. It's 11 by my back door and single digits are still forecast until late in the week when we are, indeed, supposed to fall into the 20s and 30s for (hopefully) the duration.
Men an tol, I feel your pain. Fret, I agree. Mouse, maybe you're going to get a bit of seasonal weather after all.
Today's a half-work day. Have a good'un.
