Bad cat, Annie and Good dog! Nice greeting for the day. It's just past noon here and snow is supposed to start snowing between 7 and 8 pm, according to local forecasters. I'm leaving around 6 for a short skiing vacation/break. Be back Thursday evening. Going to stick to the easy beginner slopes but it should be fun with new snow and temps about average for the season. Thursday is supposed to rain and then get a lot colder. We'll be ready to leave by then.

Hope you have fun, Beth. It's pouring snow here, but you'd be there by now for sure. I'd have more fun in the lodge by the fireplace with a warm drink.

It is cold and sleeting here. Forecasts of half a foot of snow. We are watching University of Kentucky basketball vs. Old Miss and drinking Irish Coffee. I hope all of you are warm and dry and that you, Toetapping, are cool and comfortable.

We are into yet another winter snow storm. 15 to 20 cm or about 8 or 9 inches of the wet stuff is expected.

Just realised I've not been posting what I'm up to - I flew to Sandefjord, Norway last Friday (that's the airport that Ryanair use as their 'Oslo' destination, with a monster taxi fare of at least 3100 NKr from there to the city...) & was taken by taxi, with 2 colleagues, to a jetty at Porsgrunn, Telemark. Our ship's Rescue Boat collected us and took us to the ship, which was lying at anchor in the fjord. Oh, there was over 15" of snow about at the time...
Anyway, we came alongside yesterday, and will be sailing at about 0200 Thursday morning to The Skaw, at the northern tip of Denmark, where we will take on fuel. Next biz is a full lift of propane at Braefoot Bay, destination probably Le Havre.
The snow has mostly gone at present here, but more is forecast at some point.
Watching the weather forecast with great interest at present...

It's still raining here in Chiswick. It's been raining for a whole month.

I do sympathize, Sugilite. We got snow on top of a terrible ice storm during the night. Power at our house kept going off and on this morning so my son came in his 4 wheel drive and brought us back to his house for the day. It was not an easy ride. He came close to getting stuck in the ice twice. The towns in this area are almost at a standstill. Government offices are closed, no traffic is moving except for the ice scrapers and SUVs. All the schools are closed of course. I'd rather be at home, but it is warm and comfortable here so I am grateful that we had somewhere to go. Mouse, every bit of progress must be very important to your friends. You are surely appreciated. Ms. Who, all that dampness cannot be pleasant. I hope it doesn't last much longer. The hedgehog is too cute.

Sailed from Rafnes at 0330. We were all ready to go for a planned departure at 0130, then 5 minutes before letting go we got the call... just running down to the Skaw now for our fuel - about an hour to go to arrival there. Fortunately it's stopped snowing as the wind has swung round to the south...
