our holiday weekend was last week.... but this weekend will be quite hectic as its the last weekend before the schools reopen...and as today is sunny many will be making the most of this last free weekend before school and things related take over[after school activities etc]...and we get dragged into the run up to winter
so we have sunshine again this morning and we should be able to get more done in the garden

the house seems very quiet.. no little Jakey this morning as his humans collected him last night... we miss him when he goes home but at least now my slippers and waste paper basket are safe... from attack and being carried off as trophys
today is very overcast and an all over grey... though it isn't cold..

We went to the fireworks displays tonight but left a little early since there was some heat lightning. We weren't sure it would not bring in rain and we were parked over 3 blocks from the main activity.
Tomorrow is packing up a pick-nick basket of foods to share and going to the inlaws big pot luck supper.

This has been a very nice weekend. It is 84 degrees F right now with lows tonight in the 60s. A good night to sleep. There is no such thing as utopia. We can't have everything suit us, but our neighbors have returned from their weekend travels non the worse for wear and, soon, the first stars can be seen in the clear sky. If we cannot be thankful for a whole year, we can at least rejoice for a week or a day or an hour of contentment and peace.
May the week ahead of us be what we need.

My Daughter and I are painting our new House, I took and passed my Driving Test so things are looking good, weather is nice here in Narragansett too
