Hurry back, mouse. Hope to see you over the weekend. I had an accident in the early hours of Thursday .. believe it or not I fell out of bed [its a high bed]and fell between the bed and bedside table.. in doing so I injured both arms.. the edges of the bedside table gouged great chunks out of my arms.. one on the left and four on the right as I fell my ankle hit a chair ..which is now black blue and purple and very swollen.. .. any way luckily no breaks...had my wounds treated and they managed to save some of the skin which had rolled back like a carpet[on my journey downwards to the floor] and that will help not only the healing process but prevent too much scaring . just have to have the dressings changed every two days.. until such time as there is no chance of infection I will remain swathed in bandages... it could have been worse it could have been my face.....how or why I got so near the edge enough to fall out is any ones guess.. ah well tomorrow we are going early to Son 1 he is having his annual pig roast.. which I didn't get to last year so although I don't care for the journey down it will make a pleasant change and we will return on Monday in time to get my dressings changed so wont be here tomorrow or Monday possibly

Oh my goodness!!! I can almost feel your pain! Get rid of that table and in its place put a soft chair or some other piece of padded furniture! Do you have an Alexa? If you do, get someone to program it for your bedroom lamp and always ask her, "Alexa turn ON the bedroom lamp" before you venture one step out of bed!
Our weather is dreadful today - rain, constant since before daylight this morning. They say one needs a few good rainy days before the leaves begin to turn to have the best showing. That makes sense but our leaves usually don't turn until the last of September or into October.
My other half has gone off to the market to pick up the fixings so we can have chili and warm apple dumplings for supper.

I hope you still get to enjoy your Pig Roast. Give your room a good once over and removem anything that is likely to do you harm! jessie has a good idea about Alesa. I use mine for the lamps and to find out the time and the weather quickly and easily. Raining here. Chilly tomorrow.

Things are way too quiet here this morning.
I guess mouse is at the pig roast but the U. S. people might still be huddled in bed. It's COLD here this morning. Not like freezing or anything, but cold in the middle 50 and it feels like freezing to me after almost a month of 80s and 90s temperatures. brrrrrrrrrr

I hate the motorway drive ....I/we will be much happier going to Wales

Forecast for bright and sunny with temps in the mid to high 80s F all weekend.
I batted insects all day yesterday. Everything from flies to crickets. I suppose their seasonal sense is telling them to get inside and lay eggs. The worst are the spiders that want to get in and congregate on the sunporch. Always reminds me of Charlotte's iWeb.
A lady who goes to the same beauty parlor as I works at a produce packing and distribution plant. She told me the most choice produce goes to Kroger and Target, the middle range goes to WalMart and the least fresh and most spotted go to a few of the lower grade Chinese and Mexican restaurants. Good to know I suppose, but I'm sure they only use the good parts.

dry and slightly brighter after a very wet and windy night....summer is now a distant memory.. yesterday we had the heating on it was so cold and today the multifuel will be lit.... it was reported that some large concerns are already stociked up with chris6mas goods... I do wish they wouldn't spoil every thing by doing this earlier and earlier every year

I do wish they wouldn't spoil every thing by doing this earlier and earlier every year Halloween is a huge sales promotion holliday here. That's the only thing that saves us from an early Xmas rush. Halloween is so big whole stores open up jut for the two months of September and October. My neighbor came over yesterday to tell me how they were decorating this year and ask if any of their "theme" was going to clash with mine! I told him we were going to do Jack-o-lanterns, 3 of them, but thanks for being so thoughtful.

they do try to get interest in Halloween going … but it never seems to get off the ground.. some fancy dress parties for the grownups.. and costumes for the children.. we didn't have one knock on the door last year
cold windy and damp... very eurgghgheughghgh..am hoping for a cold dry winter rather than a wet windy one
