Yes I am expect on the US political system, predicted the Trump win, 2 years before the election I think when he was 16-1. However I cashed my bet in early as I got cold feet, but I then put a bet on the electoral college and got that right!! Was at least 10-1 iirc, I will have to look it up on my account! if your an expert on American politics... how come you have shown no expertease placing a bet will never ever equal knowledge.. I am sure the Americans on here will welcome your expert knowledge of the US political systems
Getting it right does!!
Trump was so unelectable I know the US would elect him! I was lucky to get the electoral college, that went right down to the wire.
Sometimes helps with gambling when you don't understand anything about the matter in question!!
All the "experts" got it wrong as experts are apt to do.

What do you expect from the US political system? And why?
I expect them to elect the biggest idiot they could find, they did not disappoint!
Reagan, Dubbya, Trump, it is an obvious pattern.
Ronald McDonald is the next president imo.

I await his grand pronouncements that will clarify political acts of today. Trump will get a zero tariff trade deal with Europe.
Theresa MAy will create a crisis!

Kronks is a self-proclaimed expert on the American political system? I await his grand pronouncements that will clarify political acts of today. He is clearly not an expert on spelling or he would not have described himself as an 'expect' when he meant expert. And of course his modesty is displayed in every post he makes! I expect to get it right and did last time.
I also back Leicester a odd from 10-1 to 33-1.

I suspect that Kronks has a somewhat different perspective, namely that since he doesn't need books because of his superior intellect, his spelling of 'expert' as 'expect' is the singular correct way. It is only due to our book oriented education that has us making the incorrect conclusion. Knowledge is of no use it you do not know how to apply it.
Books are merely words on paper, they should not be taken as gospel, unless the are the Gospel obviously.
Reading between the lines and working out that really happened is the key to studying history, you can often ignore the lines themselves.

Nice, if meaningless, rant.

don't understand anything about the matter in questionAnd in light of this you gamble? Yes I do from time to time, used to make £100 a month at poker at one time. Didn't last so I stopped when I began losing
but finished in profit.
I have the odd bet now and then mainly for a bit of fun usually small amounts. I did however once put a £100 bet on (the biggest I've ever placed) on the winner of American Idol, at 4-1, and I won!! smiley 1
The odds are so stacked against you it is hardly gambling though, you are almost guaranteed to lose.
Even if you were winning 10% effectively you would still lose due to the bookmakers margin.
Poker is not really gambling, more a case of finding folk who are worse at the game than you are, not many of those about these days! Not enough to beat the sites margin anyway!

Well, Lin and I backed Trump and Brexit but NOT Le Pen and (sadly) not Leicester.
We did however back the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner (normally our horse either wins or comes second so we place each-way bets.)

I first backed Leicester at 10-1, then the lost iirc!!
So I back them again at 28-1 and 33-1.
I figured any team can lose once in a while.
Wish I had not cashed in my Trump bet early when I got cold feet.
That is the problem with being able to cash in early, it is a double edged sword.
Not had much luck recently, but I will think I may have broke even, had to tell as my bets are spread across two accounts, If I am not doing well I make smaller bets until I get a winner or two.
never chase loses, it is the road to ruin.

Mike is talking about gambling on who would win... rather than any sort of political leanings I shall be having a flutter come your next election too.. and the way things are I will be backing Trump to win if its Hillary standing in opposition betting is very different than approving ..

He's mostly a liar who tells people what he wants them to think. Overall he is not a very nice person and seems to be a disgrace as a president. Pence is worse though. I agree with Beth on that one.

Not likely to get good odds on him second time around, I got 16-1 do I didn't have to put much on, he will probably be odds-on against Hillary and I don't like backing odds-on.
I like to look for fairly long shots which I think are under valued, I seem to do better that way, backing a "dead cert" horse at 5-1 on taught me a lesson, nothing is certain!
I find I do quite well at odds between 10-1 and 20-1, I pick up more winners than I should in that range.
