The temps have definitely been seasonal today - 50s F for the most part. Chilly!
Now, finally, the leaves are starting to turn.

after yesterday horrible day its bright sunshine I'm glad you're having a nice day, mouse. We're getting light rain and just chilly enough to have the heat on low. I turned down a brunch invitation for sleeping in!

sunny after a really hard frost overnight..and the cliocks have gone back so we get an extra hour in bed That doesn't happen here for a couple more weeks (November 9). Dread it. Don't like the early dark in the evenings. Working from home today. Hope to pop back in later.

its overcast and very dull....with an underlying damp/dank smell of wet soil and wet leaves
the dog daughters looking after for 10 or so days arrived yesterday afternoon[she only said she would have him because she knew the effect kennels would have ....he is one very terrified of every thing little pooch... he was a rescue dog recued by his owners when they lived in Spain...they returned to the UK few months ago and didn't want to leave him in kennels while they went to tie up lose ends in Spain as it would probably have sent him over the edge he slept well... but is rather fretful as daughters has had to go out this morning so lots of whineing and keening and just isn't settling at all ive put his bed next to me while I am on the computer..but he is ignoring it...and is pawming and wont relax.. I think he will be alright in a couple of days he is another George.. but this George wont be turned into sausages

Good goin' mouse. He's a lucky dog to get a few days at your house instead of in a kennel. Dogs that are family pets usually relate better to friendly humans than they do to other dogs. Happy Halloween to all! I'll be taking the kids door to door for trick or treating later on. This will be the last year for the oldest I think. She's out-growing it. But, I'll get to jog along with the other ones for a couple more years.

It is chill and sunny today. The children trick-or-treat tonight. We shall turn on the front lights and hand out treats which are miniature candy bars this year with small packs of cookies for any who cannot eat chocolate. A few blocks from us lives a local celebrity (sports) who has a huge house with lavish Halloween decorations. He and his wife hand out toys or toy and candy combinations, so that's the first stop for most kids in the area. He enjoys it a great deal and so do the kids.

We had quite a few trick or treaters in spite of the hard chill in the air. Most had coats and jackets over their costumes. Too bad but necessary.
Off to find supper. Back in awhile to change out the Daily Calendar (hopefully).
So sorry about the Manhattan terror attack.
Sympathies to all involved - horrible.
