It is dreary here, too, mouse. Warm but dark skies and intermittent rain showers.
I hope this is the end of hurricane season in this country til next year.

We made a family trip to a fall festival this afternoon. Mostly geared for kids but we all had fun. It's been very warm all day with showers before dark. Too hot for fall. Maybe it will rain tonight and cool things down.

Hot and sunny.
Northern CA is under a fire watch - some evacuations and closures of schools and businesses.
Hope Chef is not in the path.

The long weekend is going very well here. Daughter visited this morning and we made custard pies and a big bowl of chocolate bread pudding. Her favorites, but we are keeping some for ourselves. Must try to get a photo or two for the Photography thread.

you do seem to be having a rough time of it ..hope you all stay safe
we have yet another day of grey wet nothingness although its gone warmer.. so its decidedly unhealthy and a bit muggy
yesterday I decided I must try to get fitter... that includes cutting out all nibbles of sweeties/chocolates/biscuits between meals and getting much more excersise than walking to the car and walking down the garden and back I intend to do this for a month increasing the walk every day ...as for nibbles there will be none but there will still be tasty things for desert

Thanks for the link, Sys3. There are plenty more today. CA fires are around LA, up in northern CA and also near Anaheim and the Disneyland area.

Good plan, mouse. If you have food stores like Fresh Time or Whole Foods, you can find all kinds of tasty munchables that are not only low cal but good for you, too.
If you can still get watermelon this season, give it a try. It's delicious and full of nutrition with few calories.

I went to bed late, got up and went to work early. Now, I'm off for the day and looking forward to a nap. Good posts here from this morning. Be back later.

today is no different than yesterday eurghghghghg

This is the first day we've had that seems a little like fall. The lower temps (60s and low 70s F) are going to start the leaves changing colors. I wore a light weight jacket to work this morning and it felt pretty good.
Cereal makes a good healthy snack with fruit on top. Especially nice at bedtime. Chocolate, in moderation, is good for you, too ... especially dark chocolate.
