grey damp and generally unpleasant home and relaxing day to day Do you have a fireplace? yes..and a multifuel stove in it...plus the central heating[which we had to put on the otherday]but its far too early September to start with lighting the stove[though we have stacked all the logs and filled up the fuel bunkers all ready for winter the heat would be just too much

grey damp and generally unpleasant home and relaxing day to day Bright sunshine coming in the window woke me this morning about 7:15 am. Even for this climate, it was a little bright and a wee bit early ... especially on a sleep-late holiday! So the A/C is already clicking along and I've just gone around shutting the random open windows to keep the heat out. Daughter and I are off to swim in a few minutes. Our pool has 2 more open weekends to go before the season is over. I hope you have a nice day, mouse. A relaxing day indoors has it's plus points, too.

lol Jessie. I don't know whether you've morphed or just brought in a little friend avatar. Hope you had a great day with your family and the fireworks. lol Beth. I was attempting to change to my usual "back to school" avatar, but hit the wrong image by mistake. Then, had a phone call and needed to leave the line. I have now corrected the error. All is well. Summer is still here, btw. Late at night and the AC continues to tick along. Of course fall does not start until the 19th. Since I love all your owl avatars, I was hoping the little hoppy toad was just a visitor. When cold weather blows in, we'll remember these sunny days with longing. Enjoy it while you can.

No, we have nice green trees and foliage until at least mid October, but by the 3rd week in September the high 80s and 90s F temperatures should be down by 10 or 15 degrees. It is 78 degrees now and the high this past day (Sunday) was 89 degrees F. I live in Ohio. We usually have beautiful fall colors throughout October and on into November. Any Indian summer is, most times, early November - not hot but warm, colorful and delightful. It is usually (but not always) warm enough to sit outside and give out treats on Halloween. Our winter this year is forecast to be especially cold and difficult. That sounds pleasant. Our temps are around 30° C too with a cool breeze. Yesterday my wife put the air-con on. I was so cold... I can't remember what weather to expect around Halloween I'll tell you later

October is pretty unpredictable in the Greater Ohio River Valley. We've sat outside with the trick-or-treat bowl of candy and snacks, many times but I can also remember a couple of Halloweens with significant show fall! I dread the thought of a colder than usual winter, much less the reality! We just had one of those year before last.

The pollen and ragweed will be terrible here from late September until a hard freeze. It is the only down side to fall. Mouse, enjoy the things with your friends that will not harm you physically, but do take care of yourself. Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, and you, my dear sweet lady won't want to miss that! Be sure you get your flu and pneumonia shots, too.

Ditto from me to both of you. Had a hard and fast PT this evening. One of the machines was not working for leg exercises so I was graduated to the next most difficult. I felt really good, leaving, but now I'm (maybe) a little too tired. A lovely night, cool enough that it's pleasant to be out and about.

Happy Wednesday
Temps have cooled off here......rain off and on! Did a lot of cleaning this weekend. A room we don't use a lot with a ton of drawers and shelves. It's been so dusty for so long....it was pointless to try and dust......I was considering just throwing seed out and seeing if anything grew!! lol But it's mostly clean now and I made hubby go thru and get rid of VHS tapes.....we don't even own a VHS player.........he protested and he still got to keep a bunch but it was ridiculous how many were there!!! The family ones our oldest son is going to transfer them on to computer....which will be great not to lose them.
But......while doing this....I found a flag from hubby's father. His father was in the navy and was on the U.S.S. Shoshone. He was on it when it delivered troops and supplies to the battle of Iwo Jima. Well......he got the flag from the ship that was flown during this time. Feb. 19th - March 1, 1945. It's been stuffed in a drawer in a bag with a note on it. I have decided to get the entire family involved as to what happens with this flag. First of all...it has to be cared for and given the honor and respect it deserves. But the question is....do we keep this piece of history in the family or does it go to a museum? It's enormous.....at least 6' x 4'......so not a simple small thing to hang on someone's wall. I still can't believe it's just been in a drawer at my house for years........I feel a little ashamed of that........so I'm determined to fix that!! So far I have one family member....a nephew that retired from the Navy but still flies helicopters for them in search and rescue situations......that wants it to stay in the family. His sister....wants it to go to a museum.......I'm hoping this does not become a huge family argument!! sigh Any ideas or opinions?
Hope all of you have a great day......my best to all
Stay safe out there
