its stopped raining.... infact the sun came out for a while yesterday...nothing dried out quickly but this morning daughter says it better underfoot...the stream are not in torrent to the same extent....although the road flooded in the usual places BUT theres a nasty sky promising ?? nothing on the agenda today..a please your self day...which makes me happy Emlette[dog] has been sneaking up stairs to grandsons room and sleeping on his bad...which is now covered in dark dog hairs..errughghg..so its duvet off and a good hoover to get it and the carpet[cream] back into a pristine state ready for him returning from uni and taking up Christmas tide residence some one left the door open...so that some one can now pay pennence ..and that some one wasn't me for once He'll probably say, "next time, be a sport, Grandmother, and shut my door!" lololol I have a light gray cat. She is a short hair, but she does shed. I cannot lay anything dark colored on my bed. She is drawn to it and will jump up and lie on it every time. She never does that with light colors. Very strange. Somebody told me that all animals are attracted to dark colors. It's in their nature.

Totally agree, Mouse; it was so sad seeing the devastation of people's homes and livelihoods as the waters washed away bridges, roads and demolished houses. Tragic! I have a niece who lives there...she is on a hill though so she is dry.. she has a small force along side the garden..says it has gone from being an eternal source of spring water flowing down to an absolute torrent carrying all before it including a sheep fence further down... dreadful dreadful business... but the fact is historicly we have always had floods in England...and lack of thought and stupidity compounds the problem...how many councils now dredge and husband the rivers..not many saw a picture last year of a town which had been flooded...an old bridge [several hundred yrs] had been designed to have a route at either side for flood water..but the council had allowed earth to pile up 30odd ft and block access for excess water....and consequently to save a few thousand...it cost millions in flood loss shortsighted eeeegits...trouble is we are governed largly by townies and they haven't a clue when it comes to husbandry...and then they are thick enough to blame it on global warming mmmmmmm ermm no...morons

Very strange. when he was younger it was the done thing to find them asleep.. her and him heads on pillow duvet up to their noses fast asleep..she adored him and he adored her but I do draw the line of a black haired dog sleeping on a pale cream duvet..but as you say..its shut the door...
