What if she wrote a book that was just completely outlandish.......that was all about gutting fish, bears, then about the press, and started slamming other politicians kids.....wouldn't that be hysterical?

I find those people on Jersey Shore more offensive then her to be quite honest. She was thrown into a fishbowl at an early age.......I'm sure not by choice. Her parents and herself have not only been called things but had them printed all over the place. The father of her child has sold her out repeatedly......... She had a kid at an early age. Her parents.....aren't perfect and a teensy bit embarrassing......she's trying to figure out where she fits in the world and make her way.........All things hard enough to do without cameras following you around. I had sex before I was married and I was even a teenager. I was pregnant before I was married. I was an idiot numerous times......and will continue to be.....the thought that magazines and news people would report it.....OMG....I can't imagine what that would be like. I'm certainly not going to throw the first rock. That sort of thing may be the stuff of shock and horror in the Palins' world (no doubt with plenty of How Jesus helped me cope {but did nothing to stop it in the first place!}) but outside of their little enclave and a number of Muslim nations, the only thing noteworthy about it is that she thinks there's anything noteworthy about it!

Ok.....what if she wrote an extremely intelligent thought provoking book that won awards? Wouldn't that throw a few people off.....ok...obviously.....I breathed a teensy bit too much of the fumes from the chainsaw today.

It would be really horrible to live out your mistakes in the national spotlight. It's not what happened to her for me........it's how her mother used Bristol and her pregnancy for political gain. Agreed. The problem is not really the kids but Sarah and Tawd. The children come in as pawns ... potential PR problems that are being managed. Too bad, but the attempt to push Bristol off on the public as, somehow, especially accomplished or noteworthy is a bad move. I don't think the consumers are going to buy it. of course, she would never have been on dancing with the stars otherwise, much less gotten as far as she did

Never have figured out what made her a star that she would even be considered for the show......... I figure it was a political move of Mama Palin.......just to keep the Palin name in the public eye.

I wonder which publishing company would release a "memoir" by a 19 year old girl with no known accomplishments. It seems strange.

Jay, I'm sorry to say this is my opinion, but I believe, especially now, most of the publishing houses would sign her on. If the 'author' is a personality with recognition via the media, (s)he is almost a shoo-in for at least one book. HarperCollins published the mother's book, Going Rogue, and if they were satisfied with that experiece, they'll take on this one, too.

that's because, anymore, there are plenty of fools that will buy any kind of book by a "celebrity". Interesting clash with UK English there, Jumbo. Where you say anymore in that context, we'd probably say nowadays or these days — anymore could even imply the opposite. Is that general US usage or local, like soda?

In the interests of cross-cultural communication, and talking of Bristol Palin with reference to UK/US English, Bristol is truncated British slang for Bristol City, which is rhyming slang for something that rhymes with city. Almost always used in the plural.
I dare say she qualifies.
I'd love to try and explain all this to Sarah one day. Next time I'm in Alaska.
(Bristol City is the name of a well-known English football (=soccer) team based in the city of Bristol. Not to be confused with the other Bristol team, namely Bristol Rovers.)
