Joyous May Day! Whether you take flowers or seedlings to the neighbors, dance around a May Pole, attend a Beltaine festival or just sit around and feel the weight of winter lifting and spring finally easing in, do enjoy your day.

ist of May already...time flys dry clear and cold here...not exactly a may day don't know whats on the agenda for today...it may be no more exciting than finishing off some peaches in brandy I was given for Christmas.....I love them with broken up merengue amnd lashing of cream ...yummy
we had a wasps nests just under the eaves a couple of years ago......i sent for the council chappies to remove them....but because they would have had to go up a ladder the council workmen couldn't do it for ealf and safety reason........I called in a private firm..........it cost me nearly £300..........had I been able to get too it my self I would have removed it
I read some where that the first sting from a wasp is not the dangerous one..its the 2nd and subsequent stings that do the damage......

Those who have serious allergy to wasp sting are supposed to wear a medical alert tag and if stung are usually whisked off to ER. The worst symptom is that it cuts off breathing. Nothing to play around with.
Hope all move Daily posts to this thread. Otherwise, the April thread will be shut down for the day. Sorry ... but let's just make the jump and get it over with.
Beautiful rose, Sugi. Thank you!

I needed to go to work today but am getting over sinusitis (made worse by allergies) so begged off due to having a coughing attack once or twice an hour. I'm taking meds. Should be better tomorrow (knock on wood). Tomorrow, we'll be opening the Derby Betting Booth. Count your karma and take a look at the horses. We can bet as little as 1 kp or up to everything in our stash. The winning horses will pay according to the odds at post time on Saturday. But, remember, there will only be 3 winning horses. With a little luck you may pump up your karma, but don't bet more than you're willing to risk.

Beautiful flower, Sug. Love the color combination. We are having a perfect May Day. All we need is a may pole in the park. I have received an early Mothers Day present of some plants - mostly herbs. Very nice day.

Hope that isn't headed my way!!!
It's very warm and smells of cut grass and uncut flowers this evening. Very pleasant. My brother, SIL and nephew are here. Bro is grilling, so BBQ'd chicken is about to join the aroma mix. Everyone's wearing shorts. I know there's more cool weather in May but really don't want to go back to coats and jackets.

I remember back in August of 1995 driving our moving truck with car trailer on I-10 through Texas and encountering terrible winds all day long........I was beat by the time we got to a motel from trying to stay awake while fighting the wind

to day bodes well..sunny and clear so another day outside..and off with sweaters and on with the t-shirts...it is so liberating and suddently there are spring flowers every where.whites..yellows pinks and purples nothing better than sitting in the sun with good company the leaves are still tardy and the trees are still bare

Morning all
Finally got clear of the Rafnes fjord at midnight; presently running along the Norwegian coast towards Karsto, where our ETA is 1630 today. No berthing prospects or nominated cargo/disport details as yet. Sunny morning here, but only 5C/40F at present, with a WNW Force 5 wind.
Cheers Mark
