How would you define Pandemic, Joe. The Spanish flu of 1919 was a pandemic. The Black Death was a pandemic. When the bodies have to be burned for lack of burial space -- THAT is a pandemic. This is just a mild virus, and there is NO proof that this particular strain is responsible for deaths in normal, HEALTHY PEOPLE. Where are the hundreds of electron microscope photographs from infected people needed to confirm a particular strain of pestilence? Where are the autopsies? Are you still eating in restaurants? Of course I am. It hasn't affected my life one bit. You really can't compare it with ancient plagues. There's a huge difference in the world today and 100 or so years ago. I seriously hope you're right but until we know for sure, maybe we should take it seriously. Don't make the mistake of trying to politicize it. That's what Trump has been trying to do and it hasn't worked out.

You really can't compare it with ancient plagues. The Spanish flu wasn't an ancient plague. It only happened a century ago, and it was a virus, like this alleged one. until we know for sure, maybe we should take it seriously. No, we shouldn't, until there's some real science behind these wild, specious claims. Why do you want providers and researchers wasting their time, chasing ghosts, instead of taking care of people with known, chronic conditions? It isn't the "coronavirus" that is going to kill millions. It will be the panic. Don't make the mistake of trying to politicize it. That's what Trump has been trying to do and it hasn't worked out. No, that's what Democrats are doing. It's only the Democrats that are closing schools, advising people to stay away from restaurants (e.g. Gavin Newsome, Eric Garcetti) and acting stupid.

Nope, you're misjudging, Joe. Maybe you're just speaking for California. Indiana doesn't see it that way as far as I can tell. A friend just called me to ask if I saw Trump's speech. He said the President did not look well. My work day's over. I'm going home to watch now.

""Toby, if I were you I'd sit tight. It will get worse before it gets better in spite of your hopes. Stock up on food and paper products and wait it out. It's not hoarding, it's making the best of the situation. Spain will be there when it's safer to travel."" Yes Anna, we are going to sit tight, luckily there are no reported cases near us and today we went to a supermarket and bought some extras but it seems that Toilet paper is being bought up, why I don't know ? does Covid-19 cause diahorrea or is it hered instinct ? We went to have a look at the sea at Scarborough beach, very rough indeed, you would not want to be swimming today !!

the world has changed since 19 -15-19 …...and with or without your consent the who has named it a pandemic...its no longer necessary to have bodies rotting in the streets across the globe... to determin a pandemic... the fact that it is across the globe determins pan demic rather than epidemic … plus of course social conditions and general health .. have changed very much for the better and that in its self is a weapon against infection...
grandson phoned to say he has the sniffles so wont come home today..not the flu the sniffles .. and its the Lord mayors ball tonight.. daughter is attending the Mayoral Ball tonight...it was thought it could be cancelled.....but its going ahead as planned....which is good considering all the work and organisation that goes into to it....
all over grey and rather dark and very very cold … .. am getting back to normal..but of course theres no where to go because its still cold...other than that life continues

seems Imerial college have come up with a jab which works on mice... and they are now co-operating with some French scientists to see if it works on monkies…. if it does....then that's good news up to a point.… though probably would not be available in very large batches untill next years flu jabs

Work was busy today with patients changing their appointments around. Most wanting to push ahead a week or two while the Drs advised a month.
The schools are out for the time being. All the schools here are computerized and the teachers can send students daily lessons on their computers. Schools in poorer areas and inner city do not all have that option. I don't know how they will manage. It doesn't seem fair.

cold and grey.. with little channce of sunshine.....theres talk that over 70s will be expe cted to self isolate for possibly up to 4months.... not clear who is being protected here... the rest of the population or the elderly..... if that is so then the powers that be will have to get a grip on those are running around like headless chckens buying up every thing and any thing... I no longer recognise my country or the people in it... in fact am rapidly acquiring contempt for a large portion of humanity,,, who do not seem to be able to understand the simplest thing... about the situation ……. including those whose mantra is the government should do some thing.....

It is chilly with clouds today. We have a weak sun peeping out from behind the clouds. Not a good day to be out and about unless necessary.
I put up a post about the Ides of March in Deep Thought. Someone sent it to me and I thought it interesting enough to share. It does not necessarily represent my personal opinion.
Be well and send positive thoughts into the week ahead.

We are planning to stay mostly close to home for at least the next 2 weeks. Doctors are arranging appointments over the phone unless there is actual illness. When that's the case, I suppose they send patients along to the hospital. The ERs are probably the most dangerous places in the city. We live where 3 states meet and form a tri-state, so one has to consider how many cases are in all 3 of those states to know how susceptible we are, here.
Weather is supposed to start improving tomorrow with more spring like temps the rest of the week.
Jessie, thank you for the Ides of March article. I had completely forgotten about that.

Have you lost it, Joe? Unless you think of Trump and his suck=ups as Democrats, you're off track. They were show on the up take but now they are the loudest voices for tight regulations until this pandemic is over. Keep up! The best thing to do right now is see that your family is taken care of. Trust me, most of the Doctors take it seriously.

South Korea, which is testing for this virus 10,000 times a day, reports a mortality rate of 0.6 percent among the infected. That's SIX per THOUSAND. The virus is LESS of a problem than H1N1 was, but Democrats insist on throwing millions of people out of work and tanking the economy.

Are you against trying to find a cure? It's a good thing you're not running for office.

We went to our local supermarket this morning and it looked like locusts had been there, loads of fat-bottomed Women frantically loading multiple trollys. Now it's a bit warmer the tights are being worn but they seem to be last years, well worn and washed tights so they have become see-through, I wonder if these Women know their derrieres are on view to all ? I am suffering, I thought I had an eye infection but Doctor said it was shingles so antibiotics and drops plus cream to smear. Apparantly it strikes the elderly, maybe I should have got vaccinnated.
