new condition may be emerging in children... as a result of coronavirus The Health Secretary has told LBC he was “worried” about a rare and potentially fatal new condition that may be emerging in children in the UK as a result of coronavirus. After a warning was sent to GPs on Sunday evening, Matt Hancock told Nick Ferrari: “I am worried about it and we’re looking into it. It’s a new disease that we think may be caused by coronavirus, we’re not sure.” He stressed that the new disease was “rare”. He said: “I’m very worried about the early signs that in rare cases there is an impact of an autoimmune response in children that causes a significant disease. "We put out at the weekend a call across the NHS because some cases of this have been identified, and this call essentially says to doctors in other parts of the country - have you seen this condition? And then they collect the information and find out what’s going on. Interesting in that I just read Trump is trying to convince governors to put children back in school immediately instead of waiting until fall. Does he want them to be his guinea pigs since they don't vote? It would not surprise me, but it does offend me.

Gorgeous day. Blue skies, flowering trees, temp 68 degrees F ... perfect spring except for the danger of virus creepy crawlies making people sick. i saw this a.m. that Trump is trying to push getting kids back in school right away. Between parents and educators, that's not going to happen. At least, I hope not. Most schools dismiss for summer break anywhere from mid May to mid June. Let's give them time to get reorganized and keep them out 'til fall.

a flat all over grey... and chilly with it.. but no wind so that's one good thing.. after last weeks warmth and sunshine though its a shock to the system
daughtedrs gone shopping..[food shopping] some for us and some for friend she says its better shopping at Marks because the line to enter the building is not as long and people social distance more and of course it has the added bonus of usually finding some one she knows in the same line......I gather there are no shortages of loo rolls or hand gel... though have to say we do not use hand sanitizer.. as a good hospital type wash with soap wand water is just as effective
we should have been at son 1 looking after the terrible two and the two cats and the cat which seems to have adopted them and comes and goes at will... while they went off to Dubrovnic/Bosnia and area for a couple of weeks [son retracing footsteps as he was there during the Balkans war/killing fields]….but perhaps is a good job they cannot go.. he wouldn't get far hopping around on one leg... Dil says its been a blessing as its made him slow down and relax instead of going from one project to the next …..
Germany faces the prospect of having to restore stricter lockdown measures as its number and rate of coronavirus infections grew again.

Of course, an inducement would never be admitted. well it was due early summer which is usually May-ish….if it isn't true it would be very easily found out.. but considering what they have both gone through its no wonder its early...although she wasn't hospitalised.. there must have been stress and concerns for the baby during her and his blow from covid19... still the blurb says the baby is healthy....and the safe delivery of any wanted babe is good news,,, no matter who the parents are ….. so that's at least three sons Boris has..

Everybody sounds better than I feel. I have a terribole spring cold, plus allergies. Nothing to do with the virus but unpleasant and uncomfortable.
I'm going to make a cup of hot tea and read for awhile. Maybe be back later.
best Beth

Looks like a slow one today, here like everywhere else. I'm manning the work phone today at home since I have an extension here at the house.
Hard to believe it's almost May.
Take care of yourselves. Get over your cold, Beth. I'll try to be back later.

Good Morning Everyone. At least it is almost May and time marches on.
Maybe we can find some relief from these horrible conditions before long. Of course, l hope they take as long as necessary!
Off to prepare lunch and after lunch read for a little while.
