realy dark.. all over grey cold and very wet.. theres a possibility ofsleet and snow later...yuk... Jaky arrived daughter took him a walk and he is now curled up on the sofa fast asleep after a tiring[for him] weekend.. expecting one of his fans to call round later
lots of flooding around in most counties.... and certainly in ours ...nasty situation.....the river down from us has over flowed its banks .. luckily now houses affected...….. but if we keep in building and indoing so disrupt natural water ways... then we cannot grumble when there are floods because all natural water ways have destroyed

Early October and a winter storm is coming in. There was no warning of this from our local weather people until early afternoon. It has been in the mid 50s F, but is now forecast to take a dive into the low 20s with possibility of sleet and snow. It is almost dark with low hanging clouds, though only mid afternoon.
We did our grocery shopping this morning so no need to rush back out. A pot of beef stew is cooking for supper.

We are having a cold blast, too. I drove home from work on roads that were not slick, yet.
My husband went to school with our daughter this morning. They had a Vets Day observance there and all students were asked to bring a vet. The student body (and all) sang patriotic songs and the kids introduced their guests. There was a prayer and then refreshments were served. It was a good experience for all. All the children and each guest got flags to take home. Very nice.

This whole part of the country is in deep freeze. We have 2 inches of snow on the ground and some slick roads. Our county schools were called off to give them a chance to work on the roads. It won't get above freezing today.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
U of KY got their basketball butts kicked tonight. They beat #1 Michigan State in the first game of the season and it been down hill ever since. They'll have to settle down and pay attention to what's really going on to make it to the 2020 tournaments.

I believe that the weather person has stated that this is the coldest it has been on this date since they began recording the temperature. No surprise. I thought yesterday that if it's this frigid here it must be worse in Iowa. At least you have experience dealing with it. We have 2 inches of frozen snow on the ground, but the roads are clear and it's supposed to melt off tomorrow. Keep warm.
