My Daughter has more tomatoes than she knows what to do with, the good weather in RI and Mass certainly helped the crop this year ! I plan to plant some tomatoes in the garden of our new home, a Bungalow just walking distance from Scarborough beach in Narragansett.

You might get some late tomatoes in September if you get them in the ground now. If you have to wait much longer - shoot for next year. Rainy today here so we're working inside. I might get a chance to come back later.

We moved to Ohio from Tennessee because 2 of my children live here. We bought a 3 bedroom bungalow in the country and later on a 2 bdrm condo in town. Now, one of my daughters and her 2 children stay in the country place and keep it up because we prefer the comfort of the central heat and air we have here. It is also nice to have quick and easy access to our Dr.'s offices and the markets and stores.
You are lucky to be near the sea shore, Toby. Hopefully, it is convenient for you, too.

@jessie"You are lucky to be near the sea shore, Toby. Hopefully, it is convenient for you, too."" Rhode Island is the smallest state but has the most coastline so it's not too difficult to get a property near to the sea. We looked at many houses and to be honest we were very disappointed with most of them but we saw a photo of a Bungalow on Zillow and decided to include it into a driveby we had already planned for two other houses and it turned out to be better in the flesh than the photo so we made an appointment to view. We heard there was stiff opposition from others who wanted to purchase as an investment rental property but when I passed on a message to the Lady Owner that it was the best looking, cleanest, best presented property we had seen, she told her Agent she wanted to sell to us. My Wife and I are Pensioners and we wanted a low maintenance property in a nice area and Narragansett certainly is a nice area. I like to be near the sea, I reckon it's my Viking heritage.

My monitor is going out. I'm getting only blue, yellow, black and white. I have another one on order. Hope it gets here soon! I hope you got your monitor fixed, Beth. I seem to be making a habit of using everybody's computer but my own. Hope your weekend's a good'un.

I don't blame you for wanting close to the shore and with a daughter near-by. I was once in Newport when I was a child but don't remember much about it.

@anna." Newport is a lovely place to visit," the East Coast of USA has many interesting memories of the early settlers and there are some lovely old homes, we looked at one that was built before the USA existed and it was still in good condition.

grey and overcast again though its warmed up slightly... We had a big thunderstorm in the middle of the afternoon, but it's sunshiney and hot again now. On my way home for some cold watermelon and a couple of tylenol for my headache!

Dog days of summer. The cicadas are singing loud and long. It's going to be a hot one.
Back to school starts Monday for my little one. Whatever happened to school starting the day after labor day like when I was a kid?!!!
