yesterday afternoon it started to rain and it literally came down in sheets.. we had friends with us and we all gathered at the window to watch... lordy we must be short of things to do.. if watching the rain fall becomes entertainment …. any way it stopped after 10 mins or so.. and the rest of the afternoon and evening was beautiful this morning is bright sunshine in a so far cloudless sky... not as warm.. but quite confortable

remained grey yesterday and rained heavily during the night.... so we have had the rain we needed and are now ready to welcome back warmth and all day sunshine.. as its really quite chilly the only good thing is we now don't have to save washing up water for watering the plants[short lived hosepipe bann] going to a garden centre later to see if they have plants as we need to replace a few

I'm sure you are having a lovely summer, mouse. The forecast is giving ius 3 sunny days, followed by 4 days with rain. The highs will be in the upper 80s F while the lows will be in the mid 80s F. Not much variation but definitely summer.

summer is not so lovely now.. its down right cold.. temps have dropped from sweltering down to the teens 15c for our area this time last week it was 80s pushing up 90s ….cold cold cold shorts and lightweight summer tops replaced by pants and sweaters and last night my feet were so cold i ferrited out a pair of very warm socks .. only to find daughter had done the same brrrrrrrrr
to day is raining and grey after it warming up yesterday.. it warmed up enough for friends to ring to see if we should go out for a belated breakfast lunch at one of our watering holes.. ie the anglers club.. where we sat out of the deck..watching the birds and water fowls and their antics.. it was so pleasant we didn't leave until after 3pm.. so busy talking and enjoying ourselves unaware of just how long we had been there to then wake to todays cold and damp is a shock to the system

happy you like them Anna.. . today is even worse than yesterday..ive had to put the lights on its so dark and dreary.. :oand we are bang in the middle of low cloud so its damp and drizzle as well. ..still its more a typical English summer than hot sunshine the weeks of sunshine and now the cold have made some leaves change colour and others to drop..

The song of the cicadas is loud and clear this morning. I'm not sure whether this is one of their years to come out in large numbers. Need to look it up. Hot day forecast. Hope we can finish work up early and head home soon after lunch. Here's a short piece from Popular Science to explain why the cicadas are early this year. If you notice the area on the map where Ohio, Kentucky and DIndiana come together, that's Cicada-city this year and the general vicinity where I live and work. Oh boy, what fun. www.popsci.com/why-are-cicadas-showing-up-early

It's already hot and sunny this morning. We are going to the country for the day and plan to return with peaches and fresh sweet corn which will be delicious.
Wishes for a nice day to all.

It will rain before noon and off and on for must of the day. By this time the sun should be bringing in the lday but it is still rather gloom, though very warm.
