I heard on the grapevine that Mount St. Helens has erupted 107 times since New Year's Day, could this be true? I'm not finding a news item like that, Lassie. I found this and nothing more, recently. Mount St. Helens erupted on May 18, 1980, after two months of increasing volcanic activity.
Since its most recent eruption in 2008, there has been a swarm of earthquakes, which are thought to be a result of the magmatic system's "recharging," according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.
Similar seismic swarms were detected during recharging periods before a small eruption in 2004 and through a period of volcanic activity that ended in 2008.
In March through May of this year, swarms of deep earthquakes, not even felt on the surface, have been detected.
Seismic swarms do not directly indicate that an eruption is imminent, because volcanic forecasting is difficult, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The 1980 eruption is widely considered the most disastrous volcanic eruption in U.S. history. It killed 57 people and destroyed hundreds of homes, 57 bridges and some 200 miles of roads, in addition to leveling tens of thousands of acres of forest.
The eruption sent an ash cloud more than 12 miles into the atmosphere in just 10 minutes. Fine ash reached the Northeast two days later and circled the earth within 15 days, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The volcano had been dormant for more than 100 years until seismic activity started to increase in March 1980.

Things seem to be pretty calm.

Things seem to be pretty calm. That is rather strange as I read in the newspaper a few years back that they were waiting for a bigger one to erupt. I will have to check the grapevine again.

Be sure you are not reading a gossip rag, Lassie. I have noticed the tabloids in Australia are often treated as if they were NEWSpapers when they are sensationalized gossip.

It's quite well known, Jessie, that Australia is a total basket case... The aim of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition, led by Chris Turney of the University of NSW, was to prove the East Antarctic ice sheet is melting. Its website spoke alarmingly of "an increasing body of evidence" showing "melting and collapse from ocean warming". Instead, rescue ships and a helicopter, all belching substantial carbon emissions, have had to be mobilised to pluck those aboard the icebreaker MV Akademik Schokalskiy from their plight, stuck in what appears to be, ironically, record amounts of ice for this time of year. In that lies a hard lesson for those who persistently exaggerate the impact of global warming. www.theaustralian.com.au/opinion/editorials/stuck-on-a-ship-of-cold-fools/news-story/77fb2d5d56974d2f83a30b849ecb87ab?sv=5dd9c8cbe1e12a50b425b1136f972550Turney's antics and the rescue of his 'expedition' wiped out Australia's science programme for the year.

Thank you Fretslider. I was referring to the information Lassie provided about supposed eruptions of St. Helens. I thought she might be interested to know that some outbreaks of small earthquakes have been noted, but no volcanic eruptions recently.

If there is activity there? then it must have been. It seems the end will soon be here according to all the signs that have come to pass. A blood red moon, an eclipse, earthquakes in diverse places, has the stars falling from the sky happened yet? ( a meteor shower)

( a meteor shower) If you are seeking absolutes, then follow that which is always correct. Find some one who knows how to cast the bones and read them. That way you will know exactly what will happen and when. If that takes too long then get a sheep kill it and then read the entrails. There are lots of ways find the future you want or the future you predict.

Having to be rescued is perhaps funny, if you are in need of a laugh? of course its funny ... that you do not see the humour is not our problem just think about it phrophets of doom have been forcasting there will be no more snow and no m more ice and they set up an expedition to prove that the ice had and was indeed melting according to their theories of global warming so there you are they shouted the ice is melting but when they decided to go see how much the ice had melted..... they found instead it hadn't melted at all in fact the opposite happened and they got stuck ibn the ice which they had told the world didn't exist what joy
