it's rather creepy to me but Walmart has sensors that know when I'm passing by the store or entering the store.
I had to go pick up an online order so was trying to figure out the check-in feature but couldn't find it on the app...I mentioned to counter person and that is when she detailed the system that is in place.

It's been a good "4th". Outstanding fireworks went on for over an hour. When we got home, there was a fire pit set up in the back yard, courtesy of neighbors who roasted hot dogs, ears of corn and potatoes on their grills. The kids used the fire pit for marshmallows and s'mores. We played badminton and horseshoes. I have a few bruises to show for it.
tomorrow's a work day.
Hope everybody that celebrated had a great day.

Warm weather is back and we've had visitors... Stag beetles (Dorcus curvidens) are very rare and yesterday I caught the cat playing with a male (with the large mandibles) and rescued it. They spend most of their life underground as larvae, only emerging for a few weeks to find a mate and reproduce. Also in the garden, but in no danger... False widows first showed up here in the garden shed a couple of years ago and it looks like they're here to stay.

I had a note from mouse. Surgery is over and she is at home in a holding pattern of rest and recovery. Very happy for her, up to this point, and hope she improves daily until she's well. It will be several days yet before she's back. Hang in there, mouse.
