I look forward to hearing the new version of these events.... The Battle of Agincourt, a major English victory in the Hundred Years' War. The battle took place on Friday, 25th October 1415 (Saint Crispin's Day), near Agincourt, in northern France. 43AD Claudius invades and conquers Britannia 5th November 1604 Guy Fawkes arrested for Treason I suppose they could even argue that this is still the Classical era as popularised by the ancient Greeks, after all we still use trigonometry, Pi etc etc etc Eras change. Eras are plastic. Example: You find a fossil that falls into a category, but defies the previously understood era of that find; therefore the era may have to be redefined. Nobody contests the dates that nuclear bombs were dropped on Japan. Nobody contests that the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776 (although people do dispute the specific date.) Events and eras are different. but we are not talking about fossils...as there is very little to rely on except geology/carbon dateing and man named eras which may om occasion need redefining as its an unexact science But we are talking about dateable and documented times...happenings inventions and innovations..many times building on prior informations ...which is not fluid in that we get knowledge to enlarge our understanding but not lengthening the time frame some years ago there was an exhibition at a museaum of science and technology..where certain claims were made as to what islam[unfortunately]had given the world..some of the claims were patently untrue ...so I emailed the director/curator about a number of claims pointing out the claims had no val;idity and were actually untrue .. we entered an interesting dialogue ..and of course the claims were not taken out of the exhibition.... but that was a very interesting and quite worrying look at the re writing of history..revisionism to suit a political social agenda

"""“The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” - George Orwell"""" and never were words truer and never has the urge to destroy peoples been more stated and obvious. those new to this message board will have missed oodles of information.. real statements coming out of the EU and others... making it quite clear as to the ultimate political aim of not only the EU but the end result wanted by the likes of George Sorus..and who elected him ? no one but he consistently proves his agenda and that of others many un-named and certainly unaccountable its not a conspiracy theory either.. neither is it hate of others..or feelings of superiority or even ignorance [words so easily thrown at those who voted out of Europe] Agree. KP for the Orwell quote. actually it was Fret who first posted that quote..although I am quite sure we all know it the pity is that Orwell was right ....just a little out date wise and a wee writers licence I remember reading a book about the future..it mentioned subliminal marketing and information..that also is nearly correctt ...not quite but nearly and that's the trouble ..the more technology...the more dangers by the unethical..un honest and those who want power at any price to suit an agenda..[these days usually political o religious]

Nobody is forcing you to accept it. It's just the current thinking on the topic. Given that it was defined while it was occurring (as arbitrary as anything else) it shouldn't be surprising that the time frame was adjusted. There is also no evil political agenda to the expansion of the time frame.

How prophetic all his writings have become.
