I ran into a Nicholas kristof column in the NY Times over the past weekend. The subject made me think of something we could discus here. The title is
Would You Hide a Jew From the Nazis?
So, would you?

I, also, would like a link before deciding on a reply. I shall check back tomorrow.
It is hard for people living in contemporary times to be able to stand in the shoes of those people long ago who had to try to shield the innocent from the cruel and the powerful.
Perhaps, today, a better example would be whether we would hide and try to protect a target (for various reasons) of extremists from people set on murder.
With the Jew vs Nazi example, the protector's life and the lives of their family members would be as much in jeopardy if they were found out.
So the question is, basically, would I be willing to risk my life to help someone in danger.

I'll think about it.

Thanks. Good article over all.
I would have to weigh the possibilities. I'm responsible for the care of my family. That's what I'd have to put first.

A stranger, maybe not, though I would set about looking for someone willing to help them. If I tried to protect a stranger and was discovered, then we would both lose our lives. As the old song goes, "Nothing from nothing leaves, nothing".
