taking the question at face value..if I thought I could hide them or knew where I could hide them safely...yes I would Do you mean IF YOU KNEW YOU COULD HIDE THEM WITHOUT GETTING CAUGHT ? mmm I think I will stick with of I ""thought"" because it would/could not be a ever be a certainty look at the Franks family they thought they were safe..and yet in the end they were not..same goes for many who hid various peoples from those who wanted to destroy them no one knows with absolute certainty that they could get away with hiding others...the best they can do is think they can...

Well, would you? A loved one? A stranger? A loved one, yes. A stranger, maybe not, though I would set about looking for someone willing to help them. If I tried to protect a stranger and was discovered, then we would both lose our lives. As the old song goes, "Nothing from nothing leaves, nothing". Thank you for that honest answer.

It might not involve a telling example of ones moral/ethical position as much as it involves the mind set at the time.
Do I feel lucky?

Fundamentally, the natural world (to which humans belong as much as every other animal) is not altruistic but is fundamentally selfish, brutal and cruel.
Sex in nature generally takes the form of rape; polygamy is the norm; and brutal violence is employed against other animals either as prey or as competing alpha males.
Morality is essentially a human invention to try to mitigate our basic nature as predatory animals.
That is one reason why so many moral codes appear to me both irrational and barbaric.
They are attempts to prettify something which is essentially brutal and unpleasant.
In nature, the strong kill or bully the weak.
Morality (at least at its best) is an attempt to protect the weak from the strong.

I don't believe any of us can wholly escape our animal nature.
Morality of course represents an attempt to do so but sadly there is very little agreement among the various competing systems of morality of what is right or wrong.
I take the view that broadly speaking it's better to be kind.
Beyond that I think it's pretty much a question of matching an individual moral judgement to the particular situation in which such a judgement is necessary.
