I've seen birds here near the south coast mouse. Lots of sparrows, rooks and crows, magpies - never a shortage of those birds. Don't know what they are eating though because they ignore the food on the bird table. I saw a robin this morning having a look but he didn't partake! Where are all the blue tits though? Im sitting here thinking of all the responces I could give concerning th blue tits remarks but will keep them to myself Well it is getting colder Chef!!

Hope you've had a fine summer day, Joy. Hard to relate as cold as it is in the Greater Ohio River Valley, but good to know somebody here is warm.

Hey Jumbo It's totally clear right now. Cold as whiz but not a speck of ice or snow on the roads. we didn't have it bad right here, yesterday. the ice hanging from the treess didn't melt though, since it only got up to 30. overnight, we got more ice. here where we are, we have power, but thirty miles away, north and west, several thousand folks don't. i just went outside to take pictures and video, and while i was out there, a line came down in the yard. i have no idea what it is, since we still have power and cable. there were about three inch icicles about every two inches down the line. i wouldn't think that would be enough to bring a line down. i suppose i should call somebody just to find out what that line is to actually, you were supposed to get it worse than us. kentucky got it pretty good, and you're north of there. i'd say you lucked out Find out about that line, Jumbo. That could be dangerous. It's not over yet here. We're supposed to get more ice storm tomorrow. I worked late so we wouldn't need to get back into it if it's real bad. Cold but I'll be glad if I can stay in tomorrow.

COLDISH AND AM WAITING FOR THE INFINITY ENGINEER...the one who came but couldn't do anything last time...hope this time he can do what he has to do yesterday was glorious..just like a spring day...had a couple of sparrows and one cole tit
Jessie our birds are declining because we are ruining their habitat..between over building of housing ..roads and drainage the tearing up of hedges and concreting where ever possible add to that windfarms etc and no longer farming in methods which allow for wildlife and birds...we are only a small island and every thing we do has an impact on wildlife who need space some will survive..probably not the ones we really value..the carrion birds for eg get lots of food via road kill and fast foods..junk that those birds seem to enjoy
chap from BT has been and gone...job done and we now are on infinity....and such a pleasant young man too

Good luck with the new service, mouse.
It is very very cold here. I wore my knitted toboggan for the first time this season and it is not even winter yet. My son explained to me this morning how we are in for 8 or so very bad winters that are not only colder but longer than usual.

Hi mouse, Jessiealan. Good to see you're in from the cold, Jessie. It's warmer here, temps wise but a cold wind is really cuttihng and I'm very glad to be inside. Our Tuesday cleaning helper lady is getting ready to leave for home and I notice she's wearing her toboggan, too. I noticed Ida Pollock, an author of romance novels (over 120) has died at 105. She wrote "clean" books ... all that romance and no sex at all ... fiction, indeed. Her stories usually involved a "young woman" who meets a strong, wiser, older man. The rest is tied up with their falling in love and "always a happy ending". I think those are called "formula novels". Lots of writers use a formula approach and, I guess, it served her well. 105! RIP Ms Pollock.
