Brilliant! "'My wife doesn’t know I’ve written a book yet,' he said. 'I’m hoping she doesn’t find out, to be honest, as it contains intimate details of past indiscretions, including my deflowering at the hands of an older woman – I went into her shed a boy and came out a man.' "

lol Bravo! If ever a book needed a parody it was '50 Shades ' ... which is probably the most poorly written book ever. Worse than the old Harlequin Romance novels. Nothing new with actual grammar errors peppered throughout. ugh

Is it worth a read? I'm considering about getting it but it maybe too kinky for my tastes.

Assuming you read my post (above), I think you might really enjoy it, Star. Why not give it a go and let us know?

I'm gonna hopefully enjoy my summer this year with paranormal + medieval romance. After having a glance in the article, I think ''Fifty Shades of Mr Darcy: A bodice-rippingly erotic twist on Jane Austen’s classic, Pride and Prejudice.'' may appeal more to my tastes.

The parody might be good. It's the original that's so mind bogglingly dumb.
Paranormal romance? Laurell K. Hamilton?

After all she is the best selling paranormal romance author. www.jrward.com/bdb/I'll google Laurell K. Hamilton but I know someone has suggested her books too. Seems like yesteryear. Back to the thread topic, is the original book really that mind boggling?

No Star, that isn't what I said. It's mind-boggingly DUMB ... as in mostly for readers who don't have much reading experience with erotica or even average smut (average non-smut, for that matter). It's poorly written.
I still think you should give it a go and let us know what YOU think.

But I'd love to compare it to an erotica novel that is exceptionally well written. Do you have any suggestions as to which ones are good? *posts in an embarrassing emoticon*

Sure, Star ... The White Hotel by D. M. Thomas, The Claming of Sleeping Beauty (Sleeping Beauty trilogy) by Anne Rice, Little Birds by Anais Nin ... many more.
Didn't we have a fairly long thread on this subject back awhile ago? Should still be somewhere in this topic.
