Tomorrow is Mothers Day, a holiday we always look forward to. It will be different this year because we are not gathering at my Mom's house. Too many in the family to crowd together with the virus still raging. Next year we will appreciate it even more.

You don't have to take Mom out to dinner. Just send dinner to her with flowers or something that is germ free. Have a good weekend.

its already hot hot hot… going to be a scorcher today....however tonight the temps are going to drop or so the weather people say.....so we had better make the most of the sunshine while we many yesterday was VE day... muted celebrations....under normal circumstances there would have been parties and fire works and te pubs open all day....as it was we stayed in the garden once the clouds had passed and drank a toast to peace with a cup of tea...and did a little reminissing with daughter about how I learned the war had ended and then about the men of the family and their home commings….and how strange it was to see lights on in houses and how amazing it was when street lighting came back...we were so used to the dark it had become 2nd nature yesterday a couple were heavily fined for going into Wales.. so unless changes are made by the PM and the Welsh assembly on sunday.. looks like she will be staying here... Only in the UK could 22C be described as a scorcher! hello Kronks,,,,stay well..... but scorcher.. indeed it was a scorcher although I don't know what the official temps were... in my garden and out of the wind it was hot..and I say that as some one with a skin which can stand heat... daughter has very pale skin and it was too hot for her to sit out in the sujn and she took her chair off into the shade..

temps were supposed to drop by 10degree during the night...but they didn't although its nowhere near as warm as it was yesterday.. and the sky is full of clouds...it could imrove as the day goes on... anything is possible,..
daughter brought back a strawbry tart each and some cream from shopping at the gardening center deli yesterday...oh it did taste good..the shops are getting back to normal stocks after being constrained to buy only necessary food stuff...some one had been to one of the supermarkets yesterday and put up on the village website that Aldi in the next town had got flour... causing an exodus to buy... seems almost every one is doing home baking... daughter has and mrs next door has....and yesterdays photos of VE day teas around the village certainly had a good show of all types of cakes …. yummmy

Happy Mothers Day!
We're celebrating at home, but the kiddos who are on their own now dropped off small gifts and food dishes so I can pronounce it a holiday, even in times of Coronavirus.
My big gift was a new set of earphones … especially made to work with Alexa. I'll have to teach myself to use them, and am looking forward to it.
Hope everyone here is having a good weekend.

we had our mothering sunday a few weeks ago....nobody got to enjoy it...instead of my usual boxes of chcolates and flowers.. I received one small bar of chocolate..have to say though it was very welcome
cloudy and not warm with sun only in patches.. so it will be an indoor day...
Germany is having another spike in cases of the virus...so its south Korea.. while New Zealand is beginning to relax and think they are now through the worst which actually wasn't that bad...….so as temps rise then lets hope the virus lessens but... the biggy is what will happen come the autum and winter months

Sounds much like ours, Kronks. It is partly cloudy, chilly and windy here today. More like March than May.
Not my kind of weather. I intend to stay inside and read a book.

Granted it can feel pretty hot in direct sunshine at 22C and even below.
Temps are usually taken in the shade, it could easily feel 27C or more in direct sunlight I guess.
On the other side of the coin you can get a brilliantly sunny January day but when you go outside to enjoy it it is bloody freezing cold!
Highest temperature on the horizon is a cloudy 20C on the 20th which is not exactly great but I guess it is still May.

Roll on Summer! (assuming we actually get one).
Enjoy your book, I will be spend my time surfing the net, the world's largest book.

Donald sent me a nice letter wishing us well and he said we are getting some cash, that's very kind of him.

its the funeral of dil mother today.. the crematorium have created a link so that those who would have normally been at the funeral can watch on phones and computers and I suppose give some support to the six who are allowed to be there no flowers are allowed... have to say that Eileen would have very much approved of this watered down and very less costly funeral...she was like me couldn't see the point in spending thousands on funerals
rather grey and cold.. and snow showers predicted on high ground bbbbbbrrrrrrrrrr
don't know what happened yesterday but twice I lost what I was posting .. so I gave up in the end,,,
the eu are still trying to get the UK to extend the transistion period.. the Greek president said we ought to leave now for our own sake and implied that the eu cannot be trusted... well we already know that... funny really how very quiet the eu has become [apart from Barnier trying to bully] seems to have gone back to nation states..and squabbling over how various mones are going to be recovered with the wealthier not wanting to pay for the poorer … and of course what will the eu do about Orbin with his unashamed power grab enabled via covid19

mother's day gifts … a nice big insulated tea cup and new head phones (desperately needed). Also, my son and 2 daughters got together and made up a photo album with a dozen photos of the whole family. Very nice and appreciated. I got myself a new book.
Now, if the weather would cheer up. The forecast says not til Saturday. 3 more days. That's manageable.
