We went to the market today and noticed there were empty shelves here and there all over the store. Paper products were so scarce we doubled up on our usual weekly purchases in those departments - especially toilet tissue and paper towels. At the checkout we mentioned it to the girl at the cash register. She said these were probably products that usually come in from China and other points east where quarantine had held up production and shipping.
One thing's for sure, people here are not staying home. Traffic was heavy and stores were jammed.

My husband went back and got 2 more 12 packs of toilet paper and 2 more 6 packs of paper towels, plus a couple of large cans of disinfectant. They will all go into the kitchen closet for the duration but at least we'll have a supply if the stores run out. Trump is giving out bad information and his followers have now started denying there IS a Coronavirus but saying it is made up by the Democrats. If some of them don't survive this, a lot will be laid on his head. Idiot!

so Jessie and Anna.. you have both panic bought... not a great deal...but just out of interest.. why ? surely if push came to shove couldn't you live without tissues and paper towels … and disinfectant
I see parts of Itally have gone into lockdown.. the Lombardy area... in all about 16millin people.... our government have ordered supermarkets to stock up.. and there is talk of rationing[which I agree with] its the fairest way to ensure no one does without.. all though daughter says no sign of worry or panic buying when she went shopping.. and no sign of shortages at our village shop we always have kept our food store up to scratch.....
at an investiture the Queen wore gloves.. her concession to covid 19.. and she will be at the Abbey tomorrow for the service
Kate is not avoiding crowds or wearing a mask....when she was seen Saturday shopping for books in a London book shop....[no big song and dance.. just a woman in a blue coat one of the crowd.]....think that's the side megain didn't get about being royal... its not all a big deal.. and you can have a life which isn't regimented

This virus attacks older people with underlying health conditions. You have to admire its design.

From the Times, of all newspapers... Coronavirus can trigger a new industrial revolution
The disease could be the shock we need to harness new technology and new ways of working
Ed Conway Thursday March 05 2020, 5.00pm GMT, The Times
Don’t take this the wrong way but if you were a young, hardline environmentalist looking for the ultimate weapon against climate change, you could hardly design anything better than coronavirus.
Unlike most other such diseases, it kills mostly the old who, let’s face it, are more likely to be climate sceptics. It spares the young. Most of all, it stymies the forces that have been generating greenhouse gases for decades. Deadly enough to terrify; containable enough that aggressive quarantine measures can prevent it from spreading. The rational response for any country determined to prevent loss of life is to follow China’s lead and lock down their economy to stem its spread.
And so airlines are cancelling flights; companies are scrapping travel. Factories in China and, …www.thetimes.co.uk/article/coronavirus-has-a-silver-lining-cz8wpc6xj I think we get the idea...

It is a matter of filling your needs without having to go back into the crowds again for a couple or 3 weeks. Hopeful that by that time the virus will have run its course. I have one of my periodic Dr. appointments at the end of this week and am not really sure I want to get out. I do not want to stay cooped up inside but intend to call his office and see what advice theyare giving out.

trump's p[ress secretary was being interviewed earlier and said he was fine and managed on very little sleep. Blah blah blah.
Said he want everybody to come on out and attend his rallies!
Now that is troubling!

I read today that President Trump was photographed shaking hands with a member of Congress who has since been quarantined for exposure to the virus. No word of or from Trump since. Will they quarantine the President?

Who do you think started it, the Chinese? I have no more idea f how it started than any one else... it could have been a natural chain of events.. it could be a lab experiment gone wrong... but as most things such as Sars..Bird flu .. this Covid19 and of course the bubonic plague all have origins in the same eastern area....then perhaps its just one of those things .. am jumping to no conclusions...… but it wouldn't be too hard to add 2 and 2 and come up with 9...…….so this will mainly wipe out the old and those with problems... well I see that as very convienient….we all know the planet is over populated and what better way to reduce numbers than get rid of those who on the whole are no use to any one and yet use up a lot of resources for no return……just think of the benfits .. every thing from more money in circulation to more housing more jobs... less cars on the road etc etc its all rather like a what if scenario.. a fanciful idea......but seriously I have no more idea than any one else
