I've got to get rid of the books that I've accumulated over the years. What does everyone do with their books? I will probably donate them to Goodwill or the library annual book sale.
Just seeing how many books I have is a good reason to buy a kindle.

My last move, I donated a couple of boxes of fiction to one of the local used book shops. They were happy to get them. It's harder with SI books and reference books. Good luck, Dewey. You're probably about to make someone very happy.
You might also check hospitals, hospice and convalescence homes.

Jencin, good idea about donating to hospitals, hospice and convalescence homes I would never have thought of that.
Mouse, I probably have a couple of hundred or more also. They are all in excellent condition and are a mix of hardcover and paperback. Mostly best seller fiction books.
I would also donate them to a charity group if they were having a fundraiser. I will start checking out the local paper and on line postings.
Whatever happens I just want them gone soon!!!!

Loaded up those pesky books this afternoon and went to the used book store. They took all of them other than a few of the hardbacks which they already had in stock. Nice thing about it is that I have a credit to purchase more books.

Good deal!! We have a couple of used book stores here.....they are great.
I do love my kindle......but I still have a bunch of books.......just can't seem to part with many of them, love the feel of a good book. My kindle is in a holder that looks and feels like a book......so that helps.....but it's still not quite the same........but when I go on a trip.....OMG...I pick up that one thing and I currently have about 70 books or more on it........so that is great.

I prefer the term Pre-loved books. I had to get rid of a bunch of books 3 years ago. I still regret it. All the ER Burroughs (not William, though), all the EE 'Doc@ Smith that I never read when I was the right age and would never have read at all but still wanted to keep, some collections of part works that I got for £1 each, that I enjoyed looking through of an evening, a load of dodgy 70s horror that I enjoyed for the nostalgia... I don't think I could have sold any of them, though, or even given them away. I was ill at the time, and I don't know what happened to them all, really.
