love it... I really like Victorian and Edwardian houses the rooms are large enough to really live in.. and they many tomes have larger gardens than the Georgians especially in cities[UK].....quite a nice looking tradesmens and staff enterence too they eat monies for heating in the winter though

the rain kept off yesterday but the weather diddnt do what was forcast and remained gloomy but every one appeared to enjoy them selves... and a our stall was sold out by 3pm
almost forgot.. among the dressups and outfits there were four chaps all dressed like soldiers from the American civil way three had the [navy blue]short jackets and sort of peaked caps and one the all most frock coat and brimmed hat of an officer and all had the big mustaches of the time and three had muskets.. one had a drum and another a fife/musical whistle when it came to the fell runners the signal to start was given first by a drum roll and then the three muskets were fired.. and oh my word they were noisy the thought of battles and that noise magnified ouch.. real real earache last seen the four men marched in single file with the officer at the from holding his sword up high to signal where they were turning next came the musical whistle and bringing up the rear came the drummer and flag carrier... good fun

starts out overcast yesterday and today but then it burns off for a sunny afternoon....I'm not minding because our London artist needs this weather to finish his mural this week...the sunshine makes a glare on the building so he can't see and lights at night wash the colors out.

I forgot to mention my oldest, age 30, will be here tomorrow!!!!
We are going to the jetty where he and his dad loved to fish and dispose of his dad's ashes there....going to be a little tough on us but it's the ideal place.

It will be sad for you, Chef, but in a way it will be closure. My best wishes go with you.

Love the Victorian. I used to know an older lady with a similar home except that it was set back on a big green lawn and was white. Even had a service door in the same place. Her husband had died of TB years before, and I asked her why she didn't sell and find something smaller and easier to maintain. She said she had intended to, but every so often, one of her 6 children would get a divorce and move back home for awhile. Currently, she said, she was sharing her house with 3 of them and no new prospects in sight. She was very good natured and she and I had a good laugh about that. For all I know, they are still there. We moved to another town. That was 16 years ago. (((Chef))) It will be hard, but you'll be glad you did it. Enjoy your time with your son.

There's a tropical storm they've named Don headed for the Bahamas. If you have friends or family down that way you might want to keep an eye out.
It's hot summertime here. I hope you're all are having a good'un.

We moved to another town. She had a very good outlook. If she was solvent enough to afford the upkeep and did not intend to remarry, she chose a good solution. Having a place to accommodate any of the family who need it is exactly why we kept our old (paid for) house after we got the condo in town. Of course any who spend extend time there have to pay on the bills and repairs, but it is a shelter in a storm that we can always use as well. The "home to go home to". Would that all families had one of those.

We were told to use only decaff (doctors' orders) but eventually lost our taste for coffee and now substitute with decaff herbal teas. Some of them are delicious.

If you don't mind my asking, which flavors and brands? I don't mind, but I did have to go to the kitchen and look in the cabinet. Right now, we have Green Tea, Chai and Lemon-Jasmine. I like them all but I do use Splenda to add a little sweetening. They are all Celestial Seasonings.
