I found an updated copy on Kindle for free
I am really enjoying it although I'm not that far into it...whoever would have thought I would enjoy it

the slough of despond and the vale of despair.. or is it the other way around glad your enjoying it do you know the hymn to be a pilgrim?... heres a version sung as it would have been sung in Bunyans time.. and a more modern verion as well the acustics are not fabulous in the 2nd version..recorded at the funeral of Margaret Tthatcher

I finished the slough of despond. I had not heard that hymn but I think in our Lutheran church the only hymns allowed were by Lutherans so we weren't able to sing many of the well known hymns.

there was a time when every child in the UK knew all the hymns .. due to the daily morning assembly at every school they no longer have that type of assembly .. so when it comes to weddings/funerals etc where hymns are played.. many haven't a clue as to the words I think with your obvious love of history Westminster abbey would be your cup of tea...St Pauls is wonderful/magnificent but theres a big difference between them... very obvious if you visit them both on the same day.. I think Westminster has a more friendly feel to it
