Two days ago, I turned on the computer and could not get anything from the internet. Checking out things, everything was hooked up correctly and there were no software bugs or viruses but it just didn’t work.
Checking a little farther I found that it was my fault, that is my just not doing what I should have been doing. About ten days earlier I got a package from my internet service provider. It was a new modem. I thought that is nice but my then current one was working fine so I just put off installing it. A mistake on my part. My current modem was taking data at 15 Mbps and since I don’t down load movies or play games I was satisfied. However, I was directly connected to my service provider via a fiber optic system and two days ago, they changed the data flow rate so that the lowest speed was 50 Mbps.
No extra cost or anything, but my modem couldn’t handle it so I got nothing. So, I installed the new modem. Everything began to work great, well not everything. In my house, I also have a Router to feed through WiFi two other computers and now while my directly connected desk top worked great, both of the other computers could not get into the internet.
So, I figured that since I would now have to change the router, and if I had to do it, I’d make sure that it was top rate, and off to the computer store of a friend of mine. I got that much better router, but when I got home, the connecting of the cables was the least of it as there was new security software to install.
Well in a little over two hours I completed the install and everything works great running at 50 Mbps. Other than the cost of the new Router no other added costs. However, if I want more speed (I don’t know why I would) for about ten dollars a month more and a telephone reactivation from my internet provider, I can kick the internet line speed up to 150 Mbps. My desk top computer is a custom made one to my specifications with huge amounts of main memory and disk storage and it is very fast, so I should be set for some time.
Each step of the way (starting in the early 1960s with only 1000 positions of memory on an old Univac computer and using only cards for storage) with each new innovation I thought, well I won’t need any more upgrades and, of course, I have always been wrong. This time I’m sure that I am right, I won’t need any more upgrades, at least I think so.

I think Sears owns KMart. The one closest to us closed a couple of years ago. I really miss it, especially at Xmas. I still have a very nice Martha Stewart door wreath I got there.

Just came in for a quick look. I need to go back to work. Don't forget your gloves. The temps are going down down down. Cool bird, Annie. Thanks Sys3. I like it, too but it isn't very Christmassy.

I just wasn't paying $10 for some stylus so found these children's ones for $5 and I'm happy Are you talking about using the crayolas for the adult coloring books? It's worth it to get the right kind. Crayons just don't work very well and don't give the same quality or the same degree of satisfaction. The good ones last a long time.

We have a smaller Kmart in town so maybe I will check it out and drop Walmart except for prescriptions; we have a Target but I don't like their stores after working for them a few months.....another minimum wage job in between office jobs and it was not pleasant at all. Actually, KMart owns Sears lol
