Well two games and two surprises today, Austria lost 2-0 to Hungary, Austria were firm favourites and Hungary had not qualified for any major tournaments for many years. Poland drew 1-1 with Iceland, it was the first time that little Iceland had qualified for a major tournament. Just a footnote: 8% of the population of Iceland have traveled to France to support their team, to give you some idea, 8% of England would equate to 4.2m of our population. On the violence front. Well English and Welsh fans have arrived in Lille, and so have the Russians. Footage has been seen of Russian supporters attacking the English and the Welsh supporters who have formed an unlikely alliance....we wait. www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/russian-ultras-attack-on-england-and-wales-fans-in-lille_uk_57603f6ee4b00f4bac30d8ba Just to say that previous reports showed these Russian "Ultras" using weapons and picking off small groups families young members and even disabled supporters, there is footage where it actually shows when they came up against more powerful groups of England supporters they backed off and did not fair so well.

A bit of catching up to do, i was at a funeral yesterday. The Russians lost 2-1 to Slovakia yesterday.....unfortunately it was not by more The hosts the French beat a very plucky Albania side 2-0, although the goals were scored late on when the Albanians were tiring. Romania and the Swiss drew 1-1. Onto today and England were playing the Welsh, what must you not do....give away a needless free kick outside the penalty area with the worlds most expensive player and free kick specialist about. So the Welsh went 1-0 up. Second half the English pulled it back with 2 goals, fair result because England dominated.

Northern Ireland beat Ukraine 2-0; a great result. Now all they have to do is beat or draw with Germany!
Of course England beat Wales 2-1 but hopefully both will go through from their group.

Someone better send a message to the players that is a very trite remark....many in England/UK want to leave the EU which is a very different matter....its not about Europe or its peoples ..its about a political imposition....got it now? ?? """"The Russians lost 2-1 to Slovakia yesterday.....unfortunately it was not by more """ awwwww..all mouth and trousers then and to lose to Slovakia..oh my word..what a poke in the eye egg on faces or what .....

Watching Italy - Sweden. I guess it could go either way. Disappointed Pirlo's not there.

Points are all that matter at this stage. No prizes for fancy footwork. Sweden were pretty dismal too.

A better game to follow the Italy v Sweden, The Czech Republic came back from 2-1 down against Croatia to score a late equaliser, so 2-2. Croatia will be disappointed because they should have wrapped up the game in the first half.

That was really weird. It was as if the Croatian fans sabotaged their own team's chance of winning.
