My father-in-law doesn't know what year it is, but he did remember that the hospital they shipped him to is the same hospital where I delivered my son. He has been making a big deal about going to the VA hospital instead of civilian hospitals where he'd get better care. My mother-in-law said she'd take care of him, but she has her L-VAD amongst other issues. She said she'd take him to the VA if it isn't a dire emergency since he apparently knows everyone there. If his mind is going, it won't matter if he didn't go to the VA. They were going to do a sleep study at a civilian facility, but he kept on demanding to be taken to the VA. The VA does have an equivalent to what he needs when it comes to physical therapy and the sleep study for sleep apnea, but they didn't have enough room for him. They had enough room easily at the civilian facility he went to originally. My father-in-law said that they aren't able to do sleep studies on people with pacemakers. I think he misunderstood. They can't do an MRI on people with pacemakers. I don't know if he's confused or if he's bullshitting us. He has beef with the Baylor healthcare system because Baylor is wearing his father died. His father was in crap condition anyway. His aorta burst after surgery on his heart. I don't think that can be helped no matter what facility you are at. i'm thinking he doesn't want to die at Baylor at least. I know he'd rather die home, but none of us want him to die at home. When he was still at the local Baylor hospital before being transferred to the rehab and sleep study facility, he told my mother-in-law that the doctor said that instead of calling 911 and have an ambulance take him to Baylor she could just take him to the VA and it'll be OK. I know that is a big fat lie! A doctor would never recommend anything like that! Well, remember though .. he's the one who has to live with it day in and day out. Try to have a little empathy for what he's going through. It can't be easy. If I were you, I'd check with his doctor about the sleep apnea testing .. he could be right. It involves attaching all kinds of sensors to his scalp so who knows what else might be affected. Go easy on him.

Hi Beth, I will be taking time out in order to read a book that will teach me how to use my Android phone so that I can use it. I'm having too much trouble with this present IPhone. I will then be using my Android when I am able to return. Sounds pretty daunting to me, SL. Good luck getting it all ironed out.

I'm mainly frustrated because my mother-in-law thinks that she can take care of him when she has her own issues. What if she has to go back to the hospital due to another infection near her drive line? What if she gets the good call about her hospital finding a suitable heart for her? We are going to try and do what we can when we're not working or taking care of little man.

Sounds like he needs to be where he can get care, for sure. Tough situation. I'm sure you'll do the best you can.
Good luck.

warm sunny morning...so it will be an out side day today my thermomitor says its over 75f...fantastic I'm glad you're finally getting some beautiful weather.. Me, I prefer under 75° and that is why I moved where I did... I've learned the hard way od "be careful what you wish for" with twenty years 90°+ temperatures and few overcast days....didn't suit me at all

It seems to me that fair and moderate, that is, mostly sunny with temperatures in the 70s F, is best for most people.
We are to have the mid 70s temperatures all week but not that much sun. In fact, the forecast is for heavy thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday. These are the same storm cells that caused the deadly tornado yesterday in Oklahoma. I shall hope it passes around us and that no one is harmed.
I woke up and am having trouble getting back to sleep. It is probably caused by the storms coming in.
