I take a daily quota of pills and tablets - probably everyone intent on stretching 'middle age' to its elastic limit is. This daily pill collection, I am told, is to encourage my continued well-being. None are specifically intended to quash or ward off any particular disease or disablement. But not until this morning did I tumble the purpose of one of those pills. It is to stop me forgetting to take my pills! PS What pills? I take one multi-vitamin every day. Last time I went for a checkup, the doctor gave me a script for a statin cholestral pill. I checked with the nurse and my cholestral levels were fine. She said he prescribed it as a just in case preventive. I do not take that pill.

bitterly cold with a hard frost...in fact I felt chilly as I was waking up....very unusual as this is a warm house which doesn't get cold at all....any way the heating kicked in and its all cosy again were burning elm logs at the moment in the multi fuel...my word but it gives out some heat I forgot to say it tried to snow on Saturday...big flakes for about 3mins and then no more...but the wind is still coming from the north east...so any thing could happen not doing very much at the moment certainly no jaunts..of which ive missed out on some good ones....but one I really don't wish to miss has been postponed till I can join in.... which I do think is very kind of those involved so every one wrap up warm \and stay well Stay warm, mouse. The temps here are around 15 degrees F higher than they were yesterday or the day before. We're supposed to get some relief from this cold by tomorrow.

The roads were so bad last night that we cancelled out on the Valentine supper and stayed home. We'll try it again next weekend. More snow is forecast for tonight. Seems like a lot of winter all at once. The temperature has gone up so the snow has turned into rain. There's a little sun peeping through so I expect it will burn the clouds away before the day's over. Still coat and boots weather but an improvement.

Best choice, just eat the right things and go easy on sugar, caffeine and carbonated drinks. Watcher, if you have a good doctor, trust him. There may be a little big-pharma encouragement to prescribe certain things but good docs won't do anything that will hurt you.

I take a handful in the morning and then another handful at night, plus two shots during the day. Then I have to eat a controlled diet. I almost never have a drink and haven't smoked in years, two things I really enjoyed. On top of that my wife won't allow me to care for the widows in the neighborhood. Boy this thing about getting old is really great, but I'm having a hard time remembering why.

They seem to be a substitute for youth and keep us going.

The temperature is seasonal this afternoon. Stay toasty and warm. Spring will be here, and there, soon.

My friends, all about my age or so, have as the primary subject for discussion when we meet for coffee, the various medical procedures. Of course the discussions are always new and informative because we’ve forgotten what we talked about yesterday. Of course there are some advantages to getting on in years. One of the best is the growing appreciation of mature women and that setting on the front porch in a rocker is a lot better with that partner of 50 or 60 or more years, than with someone new and young. Some people complain about things going wrong with their bodies, I don’t because there is an advantage. Not only can’t you feel wrinkles but with cataracts you can’t see them either. She is always sixteen but a lot more interesting to talk to.

pills...I hate em..but they do keep us going....if I forget to take my morning ones I slowly grind to a juddering holt age has a few benefits[very few] I am not doing ageing again...not for anyone
I was looking into having do not recusitate[under certain conditions] put into my medical notes...but what a palaver it is...and it all has to be drawn up legally and costs around £500..and even then ones wishes can be over ridden...so its not really worth bothering about....and the £500 well I could spend that on ciggereeets whisky and wild wild men...if I knew any wild wild men
the wind has changed and its now blowing in from the west..so its not as bitterly cold... and its raining

Cool. I know someone who played trumpet in a high school band. I was a cheerleader in high school and he played solo introductions to some of our routines. He did not pursue it as a career but was very good ... always hit the right note. Awesome. How are you doing this week, Whose? Hope everything's going well for you.

How are you doing this week, Whose? Hope everything's going well for you. I'm doing great this week, beth. Everything is going well for me. Oh, that's good, Who. I'm having a good week myself and all the freezing weather is over for the time being. There was a heavy snow on Valentines Day so we stayed home. This weekend we're going out to dinner and a movie to make up for it. We're trying to decide on a movie to see. Maybe Star Wars.
