Setting here tonight I have the television on tuned to the Rural Channel. I'm listening to the "Cumberland Highlanders" and some of the best bluegrass music you'll ever hear.
This is music from the land that my people come from, that is, North Georgia and South Tennessee.
This music has a close tie to music roots in Scotland, Wales and Cornwall.

This music has gained in popularity during the last few years with some of the younger players doing what they call cross over, but it is the old songs that are really the good ones. One musician that was really (now passed) was John Hartford playing the music in the old ways.

Hi Men an tol, I love all kinds of music except Rock and Roll which is too raucous for me. Some music has so inspired me that I have come out in goosepimples. I used to own a guitar, but gave it to one of my sons. I'm rather partial to country and western music. Sometimes I would play my guitar into the early morning hours, very soothing.

I didn't know you played guitar SL. I do too but mostly bass. Some of my people come from the Shenandoah Valley where Bluegrass music has a long standing home.. It is in Va and WVA. Nice to visit. www.visitshenandoah.org/Home.aspx
