Second grey and rainy day in a row. Once the temperatures cooperate , everything is going to come out green very quickly.
Nice lazy weekend with SEC basketball tournament on the agenda and pizza on the menu.
Have a good'un.

Sunday already! It's been a fiy-by weekend. U of KY has fought their way to the finals of the SEC tournament and has to defeat Arkansas tomorrow. Go Wildcats! Hope Sunday holds a smile or two for all of us. Have a good'un.

Is "mothering Sunday" the same thing as our Mother's Day in May?
We went to Indianapolis today with some friends who have a couple of children. Took the kids to the Children's museum there which is really nice. I think my little one is still too young to appreciate it but we also took kites and flew them at a park. Had an all around good day.
Hope you all have a great week coming up.

Is "mothering Sunday" the same thing as our Mother's Day in May? I would imagine so as its an English tradition...it was so apprentices and servants could go visit their mothers on one special sunday of the year...collecting spring flowers on the way as a gift to their mothers many apprentices and servants were from the rural communities near towns and cities and even very modest dwellings would have a servant so lots of young people would make the walk home to see their mothers..this happened for centuries before the advent of holidays

That can be fixed Jumbo. Go here and pick a date, get your tickets and GO! It could take a few dollars more but if you live within an hour or two, you should be able to get there and back and keep the shirt on your back. Don't tell your wife you'll buy her everything. Just promise one thing and stick with it. www.opry.com/calendar?gclid=CO-Y7PG3nMQCFUMV7Aod5F8ACQAfter you do that, the other place in TE you need to visit while you're there is Gatlinburg. Then, if you get a 3rd chance - Memphis or Knoxville. memphis is no problem. i've lived there three times, although the last time was 1973. i'd love to go to pigeon forge, gatlinburg of course. the grand ol' opry is forty-five minutes away. i've seen it, the first year we were back here. we went to opry mills mall when deal or no deal did auditions there. that was an experience. they had expected about six thousand people, and 14 thousand showed up. we were there from seven am to eight pm. i walked across the street and looked at the outside of the grand ol' opry anyway. haven't made it back there since I'd also suggset Bays Mountain, near Kingsport. Really nice way to spend the better part of a day. Even has a planetarium. There's a nice lake and fishing's free.

Get yer Irish limericks ready for tomorrow. I think I heard that they can be dirty but not too filthy. I'll check mine and see if there's anything suitable. There will be a Holiday Contest Category at the top of the page to put yours and read the other ones.

That's like ours. Flowers and a card and maybe dinner out. Mostly my mom appreciates us spending the time with her and it's great for all of us.

Off work and we won't have sunset until around 7:30, so lots of daylight left. I don't know whether you're noticed the News Feeder or not but tomorrow, in honor of St. Patrick's Day, we'll be having an Irish Lymerick contest with 50 kp as the prize. You can offer an old favorite, bring in something you find onine (or off) orrrr make up one of your own. There are not extra points for bawdy or clean .. either is fine as long as it isn't just nonsense with bad words. Those we'll probably reject and delete so as not to get in trouble with Pro Boards. Only registered members are eligible. Look for the Saint Patrich's Day Topic at the top of the page when you come in tomorrow. and ... enjoy.
