The Settle & Carlisle Railway is one of the great railway journeys of the world. What a shame the weather was decidedly inclement for you on this occasion, mouse. I'll see if I can dig out some photos at some point  |

inclement but enjoyable non the less....and the moors can brood on any occasion..and have a beauty all their own
am really getting into railway journeys[sadly having left it too late for some of the more exotic due to the insurance costs
last years form fort William to the kyle was super]
a relative went to China during the late 20s-30s...by train from Moscow...now that would really be a train journey to make[they even had to cook their food on a primus stove during the journey which took some what over 3-4 weeks and had to face th constant barrage of questions of the Russian and then Chinese stasi..police
