October (and I) say "Thank You, Chris". I went in to work in bright sunshine, came out to a cloud cover that probably means at least a shower if not more. It's almost time to buy a couple of pumpkins for the front steps. Does anybody else still carve their jack-o-lanterns? There are all kinds of kitsand stencils for drawing faces and other decor. I think the messy job of carving is losing out. Too bad because the seeds are so good when they're roasted and salted.

October is one of my favorite months. It is the time for harvest and laying in. What is one thing you do to get ready for winter? My fruit bowl goes from bananas and other citrus fruits to apples and pears and grapes. I decorate with a scarecrow and a basket of gourds.
Do you give out trick or treat goodies on Halloween eve?

When we count our sons and daughters' b-days, too it feels like we're getting smacked with more than one ... all in the course of a year. Give him good wishes, and a kiss, and a gift card and forget the whole thing. Good morning, England Good Night, America See you later.
