THE GOLDEN ORB IN THE SKY IS DOING ITS JOB AND SHINNING DOWN UPON US..... the smells of grass and roses keep wafting into the house...today I have NOTHING on the agenda so can spend the time in the garden soaking up the rays will have to send the dog inside though rather than letting her get overly hot mind you..i doubt any one will have to take their plant pots inside like cheffy...one of the things about stone houses is they are cool even in the hottest of weathers

well swelp me..we have great orrible clouds rolled up...from the east so now its just uncomfortably hot and humid...but the good weather is set to last I understand...lets hope the clouds drift on by humidity is always a problem in England as we never get enough sun to really dry every where out but if humidity is the price of fine weather..so be it

The sun's out here, too. going out to enjoy it since the weather forecast calls for thunderstorms for the next 4 days.

They are very colorful. Do you have a place where you can go to try them on? it's mail order only so that is a little scary not knowing how the sizes run

I have had bad luck twice with that. Sometimes there are reviews that tell if they run large or small. Just be sure that you can return them or exchange them easily.
They are cute and look comfortable.

I just heard Teresa Heinz Kerry has been hospitalized. I was not aware she has breast cancer. Here's a clip I found.
Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Secretary of State John Kerry, became ill Sunday and was taken by ambulance to a Massachusetts hospital.
Heinz Kerry, 74, was in Nantucket, where the family has a home.
Accompanied by her husband, she was taken to Nantucket Cottage Hospital, said Glen Johnson, the secretary's spokesman. Once her condition was stabilized, she was transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
"The family is grateful for the outpouring of support it has received and aware of the interest in her condition, but they ask for privacy at this time," Johnson said in a statement.

sunny Monday...had my early cuppa out in the garden ..its so wonderful just to be able to do that without being cold or getting wet through..and even though its early the smells and scents are already wafting..makes one glad to be alive and ready to face the day what ever it brings and the dog[little em] is delighted to be out side as I make her come into the house when it heats up one or two things to do today but determined to spend as much time as possible just mooching/chillin out doors

It is cloudy today but very warm. I have a wedding to attend this afternoon. This one is a dress up wedding which means digging in the closet for the kind of clothing I seldom wear. This, alone, makes it a rare occasion. It seems most weddings now are more casual.
Mouse and all, have a pleasant summertime day.

I think I have found my next new adventure!!! I am starting a new healthy lifestyle tomorrow and this would fit the bill for a place to spend a few hours walking. I can get there by ferry boat and then prowl the ferry terminal and stroll on over to this pier......great way to get a lot of fresh air and cooler temps; now I just gotta tuck away a little and make my plans: www.yelp.com/biz/pier-14-san-francisco

Looks like a nice walkway, Chris. How many miles would you get in by the time you were ready to leave. I've only been to SF once and then for just 3 days. I'd like to go back, next time for a week, with an itinerary planned out in advance.

In August 2011, my family and I were vacationing on the Outer Banks, N. Carolina, when Hurricane Irene hit. Between the tourism folks, the rescue workers and LE along the Atlantic shore and outer islands, we visitors were sent packing in a pretty well organized effort. Thank goodness they didn't leave it up to us to talk amongst ourselves and decide when to leave.
A few years earlier, my older daughter was vacationing in Cancun in October. One of my friends called and said, "Beth, do you realize a hurricane is headed their way?" So, I called and said, "Sweetie, you do know you're in the path of a tropical storm, don't you?" and she said, "That couldn't be right. The sun is shining, the sky is blue". I said, "Please check on it. Watch TV, talk with the hotel personnel." She promised she'd try to find someone who spoke English. I worried. By morning, news reports on the computer and weather channel were even more dire, so I called again. No answer. I got to worry several hours before she called from Colorado ... the only plane going out of Cancun with room for her and her friend. They landed in CO Springs that late afternoon in shorts and sandals, two inches of snow on the ground and temps in the low 30s F. Finally made it home the next day.
Now, tropical storm Chantal is gaining cred in the Caribbean and some of my family are enjoying the sun and surf on the Guilf coast of Florida. Hopefully, they are keeping up with things like that or the tourism people are leaking the news now and then. It isn't supposed to get there until Friday or Saturday, so my hope is that by then it will have blown itself out!!!
