I think this case has haunted many of us. I read the original account and started shaking my head about half-way through ... along with many others. Now, it appears, the matter rates looking into. Experts demand inquest into Kelly death A group of prominent experts have demanded a full inquest into the death of government weapons inspector David Kelly. Skip related content The call came in a letter to The Times signed by eight senior figures, including a former coroner, Michael Powers, a former deputy coroner, Margaret Bloom, and Julian Bion, a professor of intensive care medicine. Coalition ministers are currently exploring how best to allay concern over shortcomings in the official version of Dr Kelly's death. The scientist was found dead in woods near his Oxfordshire home in 2003 after he was exposed as the source for a BBC story disclosing anger within the intelligence service over use of Iraq arms data. The then Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer, suspended an inquest before an inquiry by Lord Hutton began, and it was never resumed. Lord Hutton concluded "the principal cause of death was bleeding from incised wounds to his left wrist which Dr Kelly had inflicted on himself with the knife found beside his body". But the letter's signatories insist that the conclusion is unsafe. source and video, here

Kelly was rubbed out, the question is by whom and under whose orders.
Hutton's enquiry was a government whitewash and for good measure Hutton sealed all the papers on Kelly - including the post mortem - for 70 years.
Unsafe is putting it very mildly indeed.

It has always been obvious that Kelly was murdered.
The main question to address is at precisely what point in the food chain was the order to kill him given.

My ex-SBS mate Des reckons MI5/6 and the CIA between them. I'm not so sure - the invasion of Grenada shows what the special relationship means to the USA (and Gerald Scarfe showed it years before in Private Eye with Harold Wilson on all fours with his tongue up Nixon's arse - which was unfair because Wilson was one of the most independent PMs) and it would not surprise me at all if the CIA had him without British Intelligence knowing a damned thing.

Or maybe their acquiescence....

My own instincts are that this was an entirely British clandestine murder.

What I find odd is what has changed that they are suddenly willing to look at it now? It was fairly obvious from the beginning that it was not suicide...........so what has happened or who is out of power that it can now be questioned?

The establishment will do its level best to stop any meaningful investigation into Kelly's death.

I did. He was abroad somewhere - Afghanistan? It was not the reaction you'd normally associate with a suicide.

i am so glad you saw it..i remeber mentioning it before..and was virtually called a liar..by those who hadnt seen it ..told me my dislike of blair had clouded my vision and i was reading things that didnt exist[and i couldnt find a link] mind you people are very quick to tell others they read too much into actions....only have to read the muslim threads for proof of that but there are some things one simply doesnt forget..and blairs reaction and ""phsyical look"" that day is not easy to forget...he still looked awful as he got on the plane hours later
